The exceptional lounge where the works are presented perfectly embodies the distinctive features of its aesthetics and the continuous experimentation of forms. The wooden and cardboard models that have always been at the heart of the Architect’s creative process, find form in the scenography, while five enveloping sails from the knitted structure, mention the Louis Vuitton windows designed by Frank Gehry in 2014.

Organized around the themes dear to Frank Ghery, Architecture and Form, Exploration of Matter, Animals, and the Twisted Box designed for “Celebrating Monogram”, the objects on display include bags, rigid, perfume bottles, original works of art, sketches and architectural models.

The exhibition is the world premiere of the Louis Vuitton Frank Gehry limited edition handbag collection. Conceived around the three key themes of Frank Gehry’s career, Architecture and Forms, Exploration of Matter and Animals, the bags in the collection are based on the iconic Capucines Bag, the Twisted Box trunk and the exceptional “Bear with Us” clutchinspired by the sculpture Bear with Us created by the Architect in 2014.

Each of the bags represents the unique combination of Frank Ghery’s artistic prowess and Louis Vuitton’s high craftsmanship such as the Capucines Mini Blossom, embellished with resin petals inspired by perfume bottles; the hammered LV logo that recalls the one created for the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris; the Capucines MM Floating Fish made with a scrupulous leather marquetry inspired by the lamps on display at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris; a Capucines MM Concrete Pockets whose innovative screen printing with 3D effect, translates on the skin the different textures of Frank Ghery’s architecture.
