The wave that enters the soul, shakes emotions, breaks and refracts lights. A sweet and impetuous movement like the one that for Luisa Beccaria takes shape in the Spring / Summer 2023 woman; a dynamic woman who – of life – faces the vast ocean like the smallest lake.
The fabrics and textures paint an aquatic landscape, where the foam of the wave is a ripple of petals and the glow of the sun on the sea are crystals and dancing sequins.
Fresh and light materials such as georgette, organza, satin are embellished with embroidery and fil coupé workmanship, interspersed with floral prints of water lilies, shaded flowers and cotton that is carved in broderie anglaise leaves, with almost marine graphics. The tulle is embroidered with flowers reminiscent of the lithe sea anemone.
The shapes are sinuous, follow the figure and create well-defined silhouettes that are inspired by the movement of the wave in small flounces, pleats, intersections, three-dimensional games.
For the day, the impalpable chemisier is almost a cover-up, the printed midi dress is tied on the shoulders and long monochrome dresses play with floral details, tightening at the waist with thin printed belts; the cheeky mini dress in fil coupè becomes provocative with a deep “V” neckline. Crystal clear transparencies and mother-of-pearl flashes instead give light to the evening, with resplendent looks of a thousand reflections on long dream dresses and pantapalazzo jumpsuits for a sensual contemporary mermaid.
The Capri inspiration, a bit Dolce Vita a bit Seventies, is also an opportunity to discover urban nymph beachwear, including flip-flops, swimsuits and hats with a wide and soft brim.
On the catwalk – a path between shaded screens that outline the waves of a rippling sea – there are also numerous accessories: large tote bags and small saddlebags in crocheted raffia or fabric, Mary Jane open toe with the motifs of the collection and laminated thong sandals. The shells stand out on the hair styled in waves dotted with hairpin, they become pendants at the neck or mono-earrings of a Mediterranean nymph. The colors are those of the refractions of water – indigo, blue, aquamarine, turquoise, green, jade – sometimes lit by the more acidic tints of algae, with touches of platinum, iridescence and rosy reflections of the sun on the sea at sunset.
