Dior’s Jardin des Rêves
For the first time ever, the dolce vita of the legendary Splendido hotel – the flagship of the international hotel group Belmond – meets the art of beauty and well-being signed by Dior. The maison has in fact designed a temporary spa for the hotel overlooking natural landscapes and the Ligurian Riviera.
For the occasion, Dior has also created a limited edition of its iconic fragrance escale à portofino. Emblem of the dolce vita, the Splendido is a real institution. Considered one of the most evocative hotels in the world, this former monastery – built in the 16th century on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Portofino – has welcomed celebrities and prominent personalities from all over the world for 120 years.
Winston Churchill, Madonna, Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, but also Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner: there are many illustrious guests who have succumbed to the charm of the Splendid, helping to increase its reputation as an earthly paradise. For this season, Dior adds its own touch to this prestigious place, creating an unprecedented experience that combines well-being, beauty and pure enjoyment. The maison has chosen to place the Jardin des Rêves outside, in the heart of a protected natural area that boasts two panoramic views of Portofino that are among the most enchanting of the hotel. The first environment is hidden in the perimeter of the hotel, away from prying eyes. Similar to a balcony or a garden suspended over the sea, it hosts two large gazebos protected by a canopy and light curtains in toile de jouy, the iconic Dior motif reinterpreted by Maria Grazia Chiuri, artistic director of the Dior women’s collections. The green patterns blend with the surrounding plants, accentuating the feeling of being alone in the world while the turquoise waters of the gulf extend endlessly on the horizon.
Along the cabins a comfortable set of rattan furniture, where guests will be welcomed for a personalized evaluation prior to the treatment, introduces this timeless parenthesis. After the treatment, they can return here for a regenerating break, the perfect end to a moment of bliss. From the suggestive green slope of the splendid to the intoxicating atmospheres of sea and sand, it is a short step …
To extend the journey into wellness, Dior has designed a second environment at the Bagni Fiore Belmond in Paraggi, one of the most beautiful and exclusive beaches in Portofino. . Enriched with light curtains, umbrellas, deck chairs and sun loungers, the terrace of the Langosteria restaurant is further embellished in every detail by Dior’s toile de jouy, green like nature, and houses a treatment cabin: a clear invitation to relax body and mind in shore with crystal clear waters. A special range of treatments has been created for these spaces. Drawing on Dior’s skills and know-how, a selection of iconic face and body treatments by the maison was born. For the occasion, Dior also presents an exclusive new entry: the Dior bronze massage. Inspired by the skincare line of the same name, the new massage allows you to fully enjoy the benefits of the sun. Thanks to the treatment, the skin will be ready to tan and will shine with a new light.
After a moment of exclusive and unforgettable relaxation, Dior invites you to continue this idyllic journey with the fragrance escale à portofino. An olfactory interpretation of the dolce vita, of which the Riviera is the undisputed queen, this luminous eau de toilette comes from the finest Mediterranean essences, such as bergamot from Calabria, petit grain from Sicily, Italian cedar, bitter almond and orange blossom of Cyprus. To celebrate the collaboration, the escale à portofino bottle is dressed in a packaging with the green toile de jouy motif that also embellishes the Dior temporary spa.
Distinguished by the subtitle “splendid edition”, this exclusive limited edition will be available only in selected Dior boutiques in France and Italy, but also on dior.com.
