“For my third TB Summer Monogram collection, I wanted to celebrate the balance between our heritage and the importance of always evolving and looking forward. The collection captures that feeling of summer optimism, constant momentum, as well as excitement for the future. And for this campaign I couldn’t think of anyone other than my incredible friend Naomi Campbell, who best symbolizes this spirit. Naomi has this transcendental energy and beauty and she embodies both a timeless classicism and the vitality of summer ”. Riccardo Tisci, Chief Creative Officer
Burberry unveils the evolution of its TB Summer Monogram collection, designed by Chief Creative Officer Riccardo Tisci, with a new campaign that celebrates the optimism of a new season and the spirit of summer and stars the iconic Naomi Campbell .
Playing on Burberry’s code of duality, the campaign captures a journey between different worlds, blending the classicism of still images with the modernity of CGI technology. In the photos taken by Danko Steiner, the inimitable Naomi Campbell stands strong on architectural plinths reflected in the water, in a decidedly minimalist reinterpretation of coastal lands. Beautiful, powerful, natural: the images
of the campaign perfectly transform into a dream digital realm in a video, created by visual artist Frederik Heyman, with a CGI incarnation of Naomi Campbell. Stunning structures blend nature and machine, while suspended shell sculptures rise from marine environments. A futuristic and harmonious vision, which combines serenity and adventure, inspiring us to dream, discover, be bold and
go beyond.
“It’s magical to work with Riccardo. He always has such a unique vision and continually manages to bring out another aspect of me, pushing me to do things I don’t think I can do. Working with Burberry is also always an honor. It’s a British institution.” and it has been since it was founded in 1856: in a way, you feel like if you were representing your country. I feel that British style and attitude always lead trends. We don’t just wear it, we live it. ” Naomi Campbell
To bring this campaign to life, Riccardo worked with an exciting creative team including photographer Danko Steiner, stylist Catherine Baba, makeup artist Adam Fleischhauer and hair stylist Jawara, as well as partnering with visual artist Frederik Heyman to give country life in a unique CGI world. Paying homage to the founder of the house, Thomas Burberry, the bold initials TB
Monogram weaves are updated with new summer-inspired colourways, including cobalt blue, deep royal blue and medium gray. The lightweight collection is printed with the Thomas Burberry monogram.
The new TB Summer Monogram collection will be available online and in selected Burberry stores around the world from July 16th.
