Louis Vuitton presents PURE V, an extremely elegant high jewelery collection, whose structure adds a contemporary touch to Vuitton’s distinctive V symbol. This exceptional exercise in style is written on the skin through letters in white gold, diamonds and onyx.
Already reinterpreted in 2014, with the Acte V high jewelery collection, Louis Vuitton’s iconic V signature now lends its graphic design to PURE V, a set of 8 extremely precious models.
“For this high jewelery collection, I wanted to express the essence of the V”, says Francesca Amfitheatrof, Artistic Director of Watches and Jewelry at Louis Vuitton. “I wanted to update it, make it more contemporary. A great source of inspiration was the minimalist V, inspired by Art Deco, which Gaston-Louis Vuitton placed on his trunks in the 1920s and 1930s.”
In keeping with the Maison’s creative nuances, Francesca Amfitheatrof designed the iconic initial in an instantly recognizable style. This bold and majestic V enhances the architectural silhouette of the collection with a play of ascent and descent.
“In PURE V, the glimpses of skin that you see when you wear the jewels are as important as the jewels themselves”, remarks the Artistic Director. “I wanted this minimalist fit to make the pieces chic, avant-garde and easy to wear. Nowadays women want fine jewelry to be versatile and can be worn with either a black turtleneck or a tuxedo jacket.” .
Another iconic element of this collection is its balance. PURE V is composed of eight jewels equally divided between necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings, made of the same colors and materials: gold and white diamonds, black onyx. The most precious and renowned stone appears in all its splendor on a diamond-encrusted white gold necklace, the central V of which features a 2-carat pear-shaped diamond. The two-tone version of the collection consists of an irresistible Art Deco-inspired choker, punctuated by onyx lines and with the famous central V motif adorned with a triangular shaped diamond.
