Stella McCartney’s Autumn 2021 collection is inspired by the letter “ J is for Joy ” of the A to Z Manifesto: an optimistic, energetic and colorful vision that evolves, elevating the archetypes of sportswear and revisiting them with sensuality and fluidity. Made for the active-minded Stella McCartney women, the athletic functionality of skiwear gives way to dynamic modern pieces. The result is an exuberant collection made of 80% eco-friendly materials; the collection is the most sustainable ever created by the brand.

The collection is characterized by a bold use of color through bright shades of pink, green, blue, red, orange and yellow. The bright pops of color are offset by a neutral color palette of camel, kakhi, gray, butter white, cream, navy blue, black and white.

The texture is the protagonist, characterized by fabrics in Teddy Mat, in soft recycled polyester, and Alter Mat, smooth vegan leather.

The silhouettes of the ski wear inspire multicolor forest-friendly viscose suits, recycled nylon jackets and tailored sweaters with pronounced shoulders and a narrow waist, enriched by waist bags. This vibrant representation of color is featured on fitted floral dresses in stretch organic cotton jersey, which echo the textures of 90s swimwear. The sportiness of Stella McCartney’s Autumn 2021 collection is found in the leggings and in the “STELLA” graphic also present on oversized Teddy Mat coats and matching jacquard fleece sets.

Taking inspiration from military, work and winter sports clothing, organic cotton patchwork trousers are paired with coordinated tops. The denim is gray with a galaxy wash, hints of color and white stitching and comes in the form of a jacket, soft trousers and all-in-ones. Among the iconic garments of the brand we find the typical tailoring of Stella McCartney, the all-in-ones are exaggerated and inspired by functional suits, the oversized Koba FFF coats and short dresses.

Bringing balance is a ton sur ton wardrobe that includes a collared trench coat and a tight 40s-style blouse, tight but also voluminous trousers and short dresses, finished with white contrast stitching. Lace offers strong shapes and a playful, whimsical wave applied across a range of dresses in black and lemon yellow. Emphasizing the concept of movement, dynamism and comfort, the knitwear includes knit suits with neat and compact lines alongside traditional British Aran knit garments and classic sweaters with Stella inlay. Playful textures mix between FFF and soft sweaters, combinations of shirts and sweaters and a dichotomy of exposed metal zips and soft wool.

To the main Autumn 2021 collection consisting of eco-friendly garments, Stella McCartney has added a capsule collection of essential pieces. Entitled “Stella Sustainable”, this archetypal range of products is proposed as a complete wardrobe solution.

Vegan and cruelty-free bags include the iconic Falabella, ironically exaggerated as an oversized Maxi edition for the fall 2021 season. Frayme is a new model that boldly remixes the brand’s classic codes, with a chain shoulder strap around the entire bag and a medallion inspired by the artist Carl Auböck. To represent the sportiness of the season we find the bright patchwork Fannee fanny packs with elastic cords and recycled nylon buckle closures.

The Logo bag has also been revisited with new colors, including Alter Mat canella in mixed material and a Teddy Mat biscuit edition with gold studs. The Zipit sports bum bags come in smooth Alter Mat with practical visible pockets and zip, while the Hobo bag is revived with rounded lines in a smaller version available in camo blue and Mackintosh shades. The Loop sustainable sneaker is inspired by a BMX aesthetic, with the new “STAR” graphic on technical knit uppers at calf and above the knee. The iconic Elyse platform is revisited as a slingback clog with a closed toe, while Trace Clog and Air Slide capture a refined yet relaxed attitude with FFF reupholstered. The Emilie Chelsea boot is reinvented in flashy cowboy patterns along with a new Emilie Teddy with a micro sole and a comfortable fleece lining.

The casual sensuality of the Ivy over-the-knee boot, with rounded square toe and stiletto heel, is in sync with the Zipit boot with its sharp toe and exaggerated metal zip, both offered in vegan Alter Mat. The iconic Falabella chain is incorporated into a range of new styles, including a cruelty-free heel boot and flat ballet flats. Carry-over styles include Eclypse sneaker, Trace Boot and Skyla bootie.

Taking up the playfulness of the colors of the Autumn 2021 ready-to-wear collection, the Blob earrings are handmade, in bright shades and with incorporated crystal details. The iconic Falabella chain is reinvented as a two-tone necklace and bracelet in silver and gold and as earrings and rings in gold with contrasting tones.

As always, Stella McCartney is committed to being leather free, feather free and fur free; all shoes and bags are vegan and cruelty free. Stella McCartney’s Autumn 2021 collection is made with 80% eco-friendly materials including recycled polyester and elastane, organic cotton and linen, forest-friendly viscose, traceable wool, ECONYL® regenerated nylon, solvent-free PU, Alter Mat , Alter Teddy, Koba FFF, aluminum and stainless steel chains with PVD coatings, sustainable beech wood and reused fabrics that underline the brand’s commitment to circularity.
