Initiatives that will encourage and positively influence the lives of tens of thousands of young people around the world. Burberry is working with the London Youth charity which supports a network of over 600 youth organizations and creates thousands of engagement opportunities for young people every year. Fifteen youth centers jointly selected by Burberry and London Youth will receive grants to ensure that their programs can continue to have a positive impact in London’s most deprived communities. In Manchester, Burberry supports the Norbrook Youth Club and the Woodhouse Park Lifestyle Center, both youth centers that played a vital role in the childhood of footballer Marcus Rashford. Young volunteers from the two centers will join together to help charities in the Wythenshawe area where the associations are based and where Rashford grew up. Burberry also supports Wide Rainbow, a New York City-based non-profit organization that provides access to art and art education in neighborhoods across the United States with little or no resources. Art materials, food and music education for young people in these communities will be funded, and the creation of artistic murals to reinvigorate schools and shelters in New York and Los Angeles will be subsidized. Burberry is collaborating with the International Youth Foundation with the aim of contributing to the Global Youth Resiliency Fund and promoting the project internationally. This will enable young entrepreneurs and community leaders, especially in Asia, to develop effective solutions to major challenges such as closing nutritional gaps and unlocking access to livelihoods. The commitment to supporting the Burberry community is rooted in the altruism of its founder Thomas Burberry, himself a young apprentice when he founded his company at just 21. Thomas Burberry, thanks to his success, has helped the community throughout his life.

Marcus Rashford MBE embodies this ethics: like Thomas Burberry, he is a pioneer, an innovator, a precursor of free thinking who sees his success as a way to give back and feed a new generation. Burberry through this initiative continues to empower our resilient and caring communities that inspire and represent a more inclusive global future.
