Piaget’s Limelight Gala Collection celebrates extraordinary women from around the world: creative and inspiring women, emancipated and independent women. Piaget’s master craftsmen have paid homage to these daring and passionate women since the 1970s through the production of watches, jewelry and the art of setting.
Limelight Gala: the icon of jewelery timepieces
The name of the Limelight Gala collection was inspired by the famous Piaget Society and its fabulous parties where celebrities, artists and clients and friends of the Maison met. These enchanting evenings were an invitation to celebrate friendship, beauty, the most memorable moments and all that life offers. Piaget captured the spirit of the magic of those years and translated it into fascinating jewelry watches featuring a round case, two elongated asymmetrical lugs and sparkling gems. Over the years, Limelight Gala watches have evolved introducing rich malachite dials and extraordinary gold Milanese mesh bracelets but have always remained faithful to their origins which see the combination of watchmaking mastery and jeweler art in collections marked by glamor and dynamism.
The four pillars of Piaget
Piaget’s Limelight Gala creations are inspired by the four pillars of the Maison: the art of movement, gold, color and light. The art of movement takes on a whole new meaning this year with the debut of a new automatic caliber within the Limelight Gala – the Manufacture caliber 501P – which combines Piaget’s watchmaking savoir-faire and heritage with goldsmith mastery.
In the two fully integrated factories in Plan-les-Ouates and La Côte-aux-Fées Piaget has over 40 different professions who, working together, make these timepieces. An ingenious fusion of crafts that over time has allowed the Maison to constantly innovate and overcome the limits of what is considered possible.
