Louis Vuitton presents three new titles from the travel book

Louis Vuitton presents three new Travel Books: Barcelona, Morocco and St. Petersburg
1541

Louis Vuitton presents three new titles from the travel book collection illustrated by artists from all over the world. This year, the French figurative painter Marc Desgrandchamps, reveals the lines of an evanescent Barcelona, the contemporary Canadian artist Marcel Dzama depicts with his fascinating trait the vibrant Morocco and the American fashion illustrator, Kelly Beeman, instills refinement by stopping the weather in St. Petersburg.

The Louis Vuitton Travel Books invite you to experience real and virtual journeys, stimulating the intellect, through extremely intense moments. In their pages, the illustrations of famous artists and promising young talents tell the stories of the cities and towns they have visited, reporting the different architecture of each place, its special lights, documenting the days that pass and the lives of citizens.

Heirs of the Carnets de Voyage Louis Vuitton, who for nearly twenty years have narrated the adventures of some illustrators and watercolorists, the Travel Books offer a new and contemporary vision of travel, while exploring uninhabited lands and cities that never sleep. Each artist explores a country hitherto unknown to him. Compare an unfamiliar place with the vision defined by the surprise of the unknown or stimulated by the pleasure of discovery. The image of a place as if it were a white and empty page inspires incisive comments, which can be narrative, fond, satirical or picturesque. Going beyond the illustrated part of these Travel Books, the collection highlights the rich aesthetic horizons of modern art. The creative worlds represented are extremely diverse: in their travels, artists from different parts of the world have been left free to choose their way of expressing themselves and communicating their visions of places through drawings, paintings, collages, contemporary art, illustrations , comics or manga.

Some of the works born from these trips, whether figurative or more suggestive, were acquired by Louis Vuitton and will be part of the Maison’s contemporary art collection, enriching it, through the diversity of the points of view expressed.

For each new title, a limited edition of 30 copies numbered and signed by the artist will be available in selected Louis Vuitton stores.
