In the 1920s, Gaston-Louis Vuitton wrote: “Let’s make the street a happy place.” A century later, Louis Vuitton asked artist Luckylefthand to decorate the facade of his Paris office located near Pont Neuf. The fresco covers 280m2 and is composed of 14 colorful, elegant and lively paintings. With this painting, Louis Vuitton and Luckylefthand want to send a message of positivity to the Pont Neuf neighborhood during the current situation.

Luckylefthand, who had carte blanche for the realization of the work, used a minimalist style, inspired by the aesthetics of the 60s and 70s, with the aim of transporting passersby on a journey through the landscapes of Hossegor, his adoptive city. With colored transitions and primitive forms, the painting was made using only acrylic colors and depicts numerous hands, a recurring symbol in the artist’s works. The hands are positioned about one and a half meters from each other but are spiritually connected to wanting to represent our current state of mind and mentality.

I created this wall painting to offer Parisians a colorful walk through over 14 showcases, which evoke a summer vacation while representing the period we are going through. The hands placed one and a half meters away are a reference to what we are currently experiencing. I hope this bright, full of colors and rainbows made of large curved lines will bring the positive energy we all need right now “says the artist speaking of his work.
