Giorgio Armani I Acqua For Life

Acqua for Life is the initiative of Giorgio Armani that focuses on universal access to drinking water in areas affected by water scarcity. The project started in 2010, the same year in which the United Nations recognized the right to water and sanitation as a human right. Since then, Acqua for Life has been a constant brand commitment.
Addressing issues related to clean water, hygiene and sanitation is evidently even more urgent in the current context of the Covid-19 pandemic. To date, Acqua for Life has invested over € 9 million for water projects worldwide, with the result that as many as 413 water supply systems have helped to access a safe water source1 over 217,000 people in 15 countries, distributed on three continents.
Acqua for Life opens its second decade with eight new projects: one project in China, Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, Nicaragua, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and two projects in Nepal. To remember this moment, the photographer Viviane Sassen has collaborated for the second time with Acqua for Life. This year he captured the joy of the arrival of clean water in an area of Nepal involved in an important water project.
