A walk in the garden: Fendi Men’s Collection SS20

A walk in the garden, to reconnect with nature following the gardeners along their path along a pond, under lush trees.
For the Men’s Collection Spring / Summer 2020, Silvia Venturini Fendi brings the FENDI man en plein air, far from the virtual space and from the excessive immateriality that pervade the life of every day. Through a bucolic but also tangible and practical dialogue between man and nature, in which one connects to the other, the Collection conveys a relaxed pragmatism accentuating the character functional of the creations, in perfect FENDI style.
The palette of green, beige and brown taken from the earth is combined with natural materials such as silk, cotton, wool, cashmere, leather, suede and denim. The tailored workwear inspired by uniforms meets a lightness that subtracts weight and adds freshness through slits and strategic openings on large volumes and perforated garments, while roomy removable pockets add another functional element to the Collection.

The shapes represent archetypes: overalls, coats, cargo pants, long polo shirts and clothes of course. Silk borders, to recreate mesh and grid patterns, celebrate FENDI’s refined savoir-faire, together with a special leather cut-out motif. The prints “Botanics for FENDI” created by director Luca Guadagnino, guest artist of the season, and the geometric motifs inspired by the kimono add a delicate pictorial note to the waterproof organza.

The FENDI FF logo and the Pequin striped pattern enhance the collection’s accessories, creating a clever interplay of logos and textures.
The bags follow the capacious and ethereal nature of the Collection through large tote in mesh or cut-out leather that contain a removable clutch. The Baguette and the Peekaboo, icons of the Maison, are present in a wide range of versions – from the Essential to the X-Lite – and of skilfully matched materials, from the precious exotic leathers to the woven raffia, passing through the classic Leather Saddlery.

The Pequin no-logo logo also appears on a watering can and a gardening basket, accentuating the outdoor spirit of the Collection. The bucolic mood also characterizes high-tops and trainers in canvas and rubber, created in collaboration with Moonstar, a renowned Japanese brand in the footwear sector. Complete the loafer offer, men’s sandals, boots and Mary Jane with crocus prints. In the sun, in the garden, you can’t miss a straw hat, a Pequin wool picnic blanket and the charm-bottle opener in the shape of gardening tools.
