Barrie presents its Fall-Winter 2019/20 Collection

1040

This winter, Augustin Dol-Maillot takes the Barrie cashmere towards new horizons while multiplying the Scottish references and codes. The savoir-faire of the artisans in the Scottish Borders is thus put to the service of modern pieces with edgy designs.
The Collection proposes a complete wardrobe: jackets, dresses, mini-skirts, coats, trousers, sweaters, cardigans and accessories respond to the multiple desires of every day life.
The very Scottish symbols of Barrie are reinvented. The thistle, the House emblem, is purified on jewelled buttons. The Scottish flag is resumed by its powerful lines, more or less marked. The B, Barrie’s initial, comes in various forms: as an all-over logo, as a central 3D motif and also split symmetrically.
Reinterpreting the House basics, the B Label theme plays with the 100-year old codes of the manufactory. Developed on the Bentley-CottonTM knitting machines, dating from 1890, the cuts are understated, the colours exclusive and the range is widened.

Born from the Artistic Director’s sportswear inspirations, the Ski Chic pieces combine new lines, technical details and previously unseen colours. Fitted and modern pieces are worn in total-look, hood included, or mixed with other pieces to offer a new sort of femininity.
The symbol of Scotland, Tartan is electrified by an XXL graphism in black and white or deep green with an allure that is both distinguished and quirky in its exaggeration of the sleeves, pockets and the cut of the trousers.
Continuing this exercise in style with the denim effect pieces, new more wintry colours are introduced and highlighted by a contrasting top stitch. A long coat and a pair of dungarees complete the existing line along with this season’s details: the thread becoming bouclé inside the jacket and the collar being removable.
For the first time, Barrie is addressing men directly with a dedicated line. Based on a shared wardrobe, the designs and the colours are the same as those used for women. The masculine translation of the basics is completed by strong pieces such as the denim and the logotype pieces. Renewed, Barrie’s tradition of excellence boldly and unexpectedly affirms the authenticity of Scottish cashmere.
