Spotlight on Virginia Barbera, new face of Why Not Model

Do you remember your first photo shoot? What was the feeling?

It was in Argentina, about 9 years ago. I remember I was very nervous and wondering how it may be. I end up feeling really happy with the results and I couldn’t wait to shoot again.

What have you learned from modeling?

As a model you are constantly exposed to other people’s opinions and it is necessary to have a lot of security in yourself to be able to enjoy it. I learned to be impeccable in every way. It’s really important to train, eat healthy and sleep well to be as pretty as you can be.

What do you like the most and the least about modeling industry?

I love the adrenaline I feel every time I’m about to go out to the catwalk. The least I like is to be away from my people, although I love to travel.

Where have you traveled with modeling? What has been your favorite city to visit?

I’ve been to London, Barcelona, Milano, Chile, Sydney, Auckland, among others. I think every city has its magic, I enjoy learning about new cultures and walking around with my music. But if I have to choose one, I think it would be London.

Modeling is also about waiting… Waiting for your makeup, hair and etc. How do you spend this time?

It depends on how early the time call is. Either I chat with the team, read a book or listening music.

What is your relationship with fashion? Do you like to play with colors and different combinations?

I’ve recently cut my hair very short and changed my look completely. I could say that I’m a new me, I find really interesting to contrast the masculine of short hair and the feminine of my outfits, varying the colors and using different accessories.

What about the social media? Could you stay offline or it is necessary to be in the middle of everything?

I like the fact that “instagram” is your “online book”, you are able to show to the public your lifestyle, the things you like, but sometimes I also love to have my offline moments.

What are you looking for in your next job?

I’ve recently had the pleasure to work with Mr. Armani in person and it was an amazing experience. I’ve always admire Karl Lagerfeld’s style and considered him as a fashion icon. I’d definitely love to do some haute couture shows soon.
