Spotlight on Giovanna Rodacoski, new face of Why Not Model

Do you remember your first photo shoot? What was the feeling?

My first photo shoot was in an old train station made by a Brazilian photographer, now when I look at the picture I can see my scared face! My hair were with a lot of hairspray and I had my lack eyeshadow.  Later that make up wasn’t easy to remove.

What have you learned from modeling?

I became very independent and I learned a lot about making connexions, respect, and a lot about different cultures as well.

What do you like the most and the least about modeling industry?

I really like the results of the jobs, seeing the pictures and later gives me a really great feeling. As well as the backstage part, when I get to know a lot of people, not only other models, but makeup artists, art directors, stylists… and the thing I like the least is to shoot winter clothes in the summer and the opposite.

Where have you traveled with modeling? What has been your favorite city to visit?

I have travelled to Las Vegas, Tokyo, Milan and Brazil’s cities. My favorite until now is Tokyo.

What have been the weirdest thing ever happened to you on the set?

Having to kiss a friend of mine for a Valentine’s Day campaign.

Modeling is also about waiting… Waiting for your makeup, hair and etc. How do you spend this time?

Reading, right now I’m really into Murakami books, or listening to music but mostly talking.

What is your relationship with fashion? Do you like to play with colors and different combinations?

I appreciate fashion, my favorite designer is Alexander Macqueen, but I don’t really know how to describe my style. It’s kind of a mixture of minimalism with punk references.

What about the social media? Could you stay offline or it is necessary to be in the middle of everything?

I have two Instagrams, one of them is for my close friends where I post whatever I want, funny things and more private pictures with friends. On the other one mostly I post modeling pictures.  Sometimes I like to be offline and I feel free whenever I disconnect from social media.

What are you looking for in your next job? Do you have a dream job?

To do a perfume campaign!
