“Viaggiamo sempre di più. Allora perché non dovrebbero esserci delle valigie Chanel?” Per la collezione Prêt-à-Porter Primavera-Estate 2016 di CHANEL, Karl Lagerfeld si ispira alla vita di un aeroporto dove si incrociano viaggiatrici in partenza con la compagnia CHANEL Airlines.

Per visitare il mondo, prediligono valigie e borse che reinterpretano con audacia i modelli iconici del marchio e i suoi codici, dal tweed al matelassé, passando per catene e galloni, reinventati in pvc. Sovrapposti, moltiplicati, ingranditi o miniaturizzati, delineano un nuovo look moderno e versatile.

Così l’iconica borsa 11.12 adotta dimensioni XXL trasformandosi in borsa da weekend. In tweed matelassé o ricamato con aerei di strass, Karl Lagerfeld la interpreta per il viaggio: la tasca piatta posteriore con zip lascia passare il manico telescopico delle “Coco Cases”, il nuovo bagaglio a mano della Maison.

In pelle matelassé effetto diamante, in tweed, alligatore o riproponendo i codici della Girl bag ispirata alla giacca CHANEL, queste valigie svelano un nuovo “look”: il double bagging, ovvero la semplicità di sovrapporre più valigie. L’idea di viaggiare comodamente, leggeri, avendo mani e braccia libere si sposa perfettamente con la filosofia di Gabrielle Chanel. Con lo stesso spirito, completano la linea le borse weekend in tweed e le borse bowling in pelle matelassé grigie.

Con il suo caratteristico senso dell’umorismo, Karl Lagerfeld moltiplica i riferimenti al viaggio: i vanity-case si trasformano in piccole borse da giorno ultra-femminili. Per la sera, il bagaglio a mano è reinterpretato in versione mini e una minaudière in resina nera e pelle matelassé troneggia su vere e proprie ruote.

Infine, per questa stagione, Karl Lagerfeld ha reinventato l’emblematico tailleur di tweed, facendo scomparire tutti i codici della Maison: niente più tasche, bottoni o galloni. La borsa “absolute”, piatta, strutturata e geometrica, è il connubio perfetto a questa silhouette totalmente epurata.

“We travel more and more. So why shouldn’t there be Chanel luggage?” For the CHANEL Spring- Summer 2016 Ready-to-Wear collection, Karl Lagerfeld drew inspiration from the life of an airport where travellers prepare to take to the skies with CHANEL Airlines.

And to travel the world, they seized luggage and handbags that daringly reinterpreted the brand’s iconic designs and their codes, from tweed and quilting to chains and braiding reinvented in silicon. Superimposed, multiplied, enlarged or miniaturised, they delineate a new look that is both modern and versatile.

Thus, the iconic 11.12 handbag adopts XXL proportions and becomes a weekend bag. In quilted tweed or embroidered with rhinestone airplanes, Karl Lagerfeld has adapted it for travel: at the back a flat zipped pocket makes way for the telescopic handle of the “Coco Cases”, the new cabin luggage of the House. In diamond or chevron quilted leather, in tweed, alligator or embracing the codes of the Girl bag inspired by the CHANEL jacket, these suitcases unveil a new look: the double bagging or the simplicity of layering several pieces of luggage.

Travelling this easily, this lightly, with hands and arms free, fits perfectly with the philosophy of Gabrielle Chanel. In this same spirit, the weekend bags and other bowling bags in quilted fuselage-grey leather complete the line.

With his typical sense of humour, Karl Lagerfeld multiplies the references to travelling: vanity-cases become little ultra-feminine day bags. For evening, cabin luggage is reinterpreted as a mini version and a minaudière in black resin and quilted leather parked on real wheels.

Finally, for this season Karl Lagerfeld has reinvented the emblematic tweed suit by removing all the House codes: no pockets, no buttons and no braiding. The “absolute” handbag, flat, structured and geometric is the perfect complement to this ultra-sleek silhouette.
