Dani was born in Florida and began modeling and commercial work at 4 years old. She has 2 sisters, Bella Thorne and Kaili Thorne, and one brother, Remy Thorne.

Che tipo di persona sei, come ti descriveresti in 3 parole?

Divertente, puntuale, creativa. Sono un capricorno e se li conosci un po probabilmente hai idea di quello che dico ah ah.

Cinema, moda e design? Cosa ti ispira di più in queste tre belle professioni?

Del cinema: i colori. Per la moda: i tessuti, le texture, colori e movimento. Design: quando un segno pulito e mescolato con dettagli inediti.

Parlarci del progetto Valley City, come è iniziato e cosa ti ispira?

Ho iniziato questo progetto con il mio fidanzato  (Dylan Jetson).

È iniziata come una conversazione in cui lavoravamo sulle idee più cool che ci venivano in mente pensando a quello che mancava agli altri brand, dopo alcuni mesi di queste conversazioni fatte per lo più tanto per scherzare ecco che abbiamo dato vita a Valley City. La mia principale fonte di ispirazione sono lui e noi…siamo un team formidabile

Qual è la prima cosa che hai creato e per chi?

Ho iniziato a farmi i vestiti da sola quando avevo 15 anni, lì ho capito che volevo essere una stilista, era così divertente…non si può spiegare…mi piace perdermi nelle mie creazioni.

Qual è lo stilista che ammiri di più e perchè?

Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier. Li amo per gli stessi motivi, sono stati dei pionieri nella moda e nell’arte. Sono rimasti fedeli a quello in cui credevano nel loro lavoro e nella loro arte. Se ne sono fregati di tutti quelli che gli dicevano che le loro idee non vendevano e le hanno messe in produzione con forza e decisione…anche se era una scommessa ad alto rischio. Designer come loro rappresentano il motivo per dove è giunta l’industria della moda oggi e del perchè è sempre in continua evoluzione. Mi ispira a fare lo stesso e restare fedele a quello in cui credo.

Chi è la tua musa, la tua icona quando crei un vestito?

Mmmmh forse sembrerà strano…ma immagino me stessa…questo non vuole dire mica che sono la musa di me stessa ah ah! Disegno vestiti che siano adatti al mio stile e mi immagino come e quando li indosserei.

Qual è la prima foto che ti hanno fatto? Le tue impressioni dopo la prima foto e dopo il tuo primo editoriale?

Ho iniziato a fare la modella a 3 anni, per cui non me lo ricordo, ma mi ricordo che mi sono sempre divertita.

Cosa hai imparato dal tuo lavoro di modella?

Un sacco di cose. Prima di tutto a lavorare sodo ed essere determinata. Devi sempre lavorare per raggiungere il livello successivo…sia che si tratti di posare davanti all’obbiettivo o del fare esercizio fisico. Quello che ho imparato mi aiuta molto anche fuori dal lavoro, inizio sempre la mia giornata con un energia e una determinazione che spaccherei tutto :-)!!!

Qual è la modella che ti ha ispirato di più e quale fra le modelle di oggi ti piace di più e perchè?

Direi Marisa Miller per tantissime ragioni, perchè quando stavo crescendo fare la modella era un mondo a se…nessuno aveva un corpo come il suo, con un po’ di curve. Prima di lei avevo un sacco di insicurezze per il mio lavoro nella moda, pensavo che avrei dovuto lavorare il doppio per avere la mia strada. Per fortuna, dopo tutti questi anni, l’industria della moda si è aperta un po’ di più alle curve, all’altezza delle modelle…tatuaggi, colore della pelle etc. È una cosa bellissima e sono curiosa di vedere come le nuove generazioni reagiranno e come tutto questo influenzerà positivamente l’immagine che ognuno ha di se.

Qual è la cosa che ti piace di più e quella che ti piace di meno del fare la modella?

Cosa mi piace di più? Difficile rispondere…probabilmente il lato creativo del posare. Quello che mi piace di meno? Che molti non hanno alcun interesse nell’arte ma hanno le loro intenzioni sbagliate…sono stata abbastanza fortunata dal non averci a che fare…ma ho sentito di ragazze che hanno avuto brutte esperienze nel lavoro, ma non mi ha fermato nel lavorare come modella.

La cosa più strana e quella più divertente che ti è accaduta su un set?

Ero sul set di Hannah Montana (non riguarda la moda ma è troppo divertente) e avevo un brufolo sul mento, parlavo con una persona che lavorava sul set, beh era l’addetto al montaggio degli episodi e lui era tipo “stai parlando con la persona giusta” e al montaggio fece sparire il brufolo. Era la prima volta che vedevo cosa si poteva fare col montaggio e come potevano modificare anche le immagini in movimento…ero letteralmente a bocca aperta! Sono ancora grata a quel tipo…ah ah

Che ne pensi dei social media? Non ne puoi fare a meno o a volte preferiresti restare off-line?

Amooooo i social, ma ovviamente ci sono parti della mia vita che restano assolutamente private.

Progetti per il futuro? Qual è il tuo prossimo lavoro dei sogni?

Durante quest’anno ho un sacco di progetti e sono super contenta. Di sicuro il mio traguardo di quest’anno è un meeting con Victoria Secret’s, è stato un mio sogno da quando ero piccola e finalmente quest’anno realizzerò questo sogno!

What kind of person are you, how would you describe yourself in three words?

Funny, punctual, creative. I’m a capricorn and if you know anything about them, that will make more sense. haha.

Cinema, fashion and design? What inspires you the most in these beautiful experiences?

Cinema; the colors. Fashion; the fabrics, textures, colors, movement. Design; when clean is mixed with unordinary details. (Im not sure if I answered correctly. Feel free to rephrase if I didn’t.)

As the project began to Valley City, what inspired you in particular?

My boyfriend (Dylan Jetson) and I started it together. It started out as conversations of cool ideas or what other brands were lacking, and after months of these conversations that were just for fun. They all came together to birth our baby ValleyCity. So I would say my inspiration is him and us. We are the best team.  (www.valleycity.la)

Which is the first thing you designed and for who (yourself,a friend…)? 

I started hand making my own clothes when I was 15, that was when I realized I wanted to be a clothing designer. It’s so much fun, its an unexplainable feeling. I really get lost in my creations.

Who’s the designer you admire the most and why?

Vivienne Westwood, John Galliano, & Jean Paul Gaultier. Same answer for all three. I love them because they were true pioneers of fashion and art. They stuck to what they believed in when it came to their art and image. No matter how many people told them that their out-there ideas wouldn’t sell, they still put them into production and strongly stood behind their ideas, even though its a gamble. Designers like them are the reason our industry is where it is, ever evolving. It inspires me to stick to what I believe in.

Who’s your muse, your icon, when you create a dress ?

Wow this is going to sound weird. I picture myself, that doesn’t mean I am my own muse! Haha
I design clothes around my style, so of course I imagine how I would/will rock it.

Which was the first picture that someone took of you? Your impression about the first picture, first photo shoot.

I started modeling when I was three years old, so I don’t really remember it. I’ve loved it from the beginning though, that I do know.

What have you learned from working as a model?

LOTS of things. Top, being hard work and determination. You always have to push yourself to the next level, whether that’s with posing, comfort, or even working out. It  helps me in all subjects of life. I just go about my day kicking ass and taking names! haha 😉

What was the model that inspired you the most and among the models of today who you like the most and why?

There are so many, for different reasons, but I would say Marisa Miller, because at the time when I was growing up, modeling was much more strict. No other model had a body like hers, like having a naturally larger chest. Until her, I had a lot of insecurities about my future in modeling. I thought I would have to work extra hard to be this stick image. Luckily, after all these years, the fashion industry is actually changing and more accepting. To all things, curves, height, hair/eye color, tattoos, ethnicities, etc. It’s a beautiful thing and makes me excited for the future generations and how it’ll effect everyone’s own self image for the better.

What is the thing you like the most and the least about modeling?

Most? That’s a hard one, but I would say the creativity I get to explore with posing. Least? Some people don’t care about the art and have their own intentions. I’ve been lucky enough to not have dealt with those kind of people, but I’ve heard stories about girls being taken advantage of. It’s sickening, but it doesn’t stop at modeling.

The weirdest or funniest thing that happened on a set?

This is kinda funny. On the set of Hannah Montana (not modeling, acting). I had a zit on my chin and was chatting with someone who worked on set. It turned out to be the editor and he was like “well you just became friends with the right guy” and completely took it out. It was the first time I realized they could do that to moving pictures. My mind was blown. Still thankful to that fool! hahah

Your relationship with social media, photos, “Instagram”..? You cannot live without it or sometimes you prefer to be “offline”?

I looooooove social media, but of course there are parts of my life that stay private.

What are you excited about doing next? What is your next dream job?

This year I have a lot of projects releasing, so that’s very exciting. My biggest and favorite goal for this year is meeting with Victoria Secret’s, it’s been a dream of mine since I was little and I will make it happen this year. No doubts, just hard work.
