Qual è stata la prima foto che ti hanno scattato? Le tue impressioni sul tuo primo photo shoot?
Il mio primo servizio è stato per un’amica di mia madre che è l’editor di un negozio online dedicato allo sport e allo yoga. Uno shooting molto casual nella nostra fattoria di famiglia nel Norfolk con un paio di look e stop. Mi ricordo che non sapevo assolutamente come fare! anche se magari qualcuno dirà che è abbastanza normale avere qualcuno che ti fa una doto…io non sapevo davvero da dove cominciare ne cosa aspettarmi e devo dire che alla fine ero felice del risultato!
Cosa hai imparato lavorando come modella?
Ho imparato un sacco di cose…non solo cose relative allo sfilare, ai miei profili migliori…ma che devi essere sempre pronta a qualsiasi cosa ;-), su un set ci sono un sacco di variabili e imprevisti da affrontare e risolvere.
Qual è la cosa che ti piace di più e quella che ti piace meno del tuo lavoro?
Mi piace sicuramente conoscere e lavorare con persone nuove e anche le esperienze un po’ surreali in cui a volte ti trovi…quello che invece non mi piace è cambiare i miei piani all’ultimo minuto e la pressione che si ha per rientrare in certi canoni estetici.
Dove sei stata grazie al tuo lavoro e qual è la tua città preferita?
Ho fatto una campagna a Valencia, ed è stato molto divertente visto che non c’ero mai stata prima, poi sono stata ad Amsterdam ma a dire il vero fino ad ora non ho viaggiato tantissimo per lavoro, mi piacerebbe lavorare in Australia o a New York per un po’.
La cosa più strana e divertente accaduta su un set?
Le cose più strane sono a volte le acconciature o i vestiti con cui dobbiamo posare :-).
Il lavoro di modella è anche “aspettare”…per il trucco, per i capelli…come trascorri questi tempi morti?
Si assolutamente un sacco di attese, quando stai facendo un casting non è malaccio perché ci sono sempre delle amiche con cui parlare…durante uno shooting di solito parlo con i membri del team con i make up artist…per quanto riguarda i tragitti in metro o in macchina sono un po’ una nerd e mi piace leggere :-).
Qual è il tuo rapporto con la moda e le tendenze…hai un tuo stile personale o ti piace seguire gli ultimi trend?
Devo dire che non sono una fashionista ma mi piace a volte seguire i trend di stagione, penso comunque che un look classico vince sempre! Mi piace anche mescolare e giocare con i colori dei miei look, quindi direi che ho un mio stile in un certo senso.
Che ne pensi dei social network? Non riesci a farne a meno o a volte ti piace restare offline?
Instagram è uno strumento molto importante nella fashion industry, funziona benissimo perché è legato strettamente alle immagini quindi aggiornare il tuo profilo con gli ultimi scatti di una campagna o di un editoriale può essere un ottimo mezzo di auto-promozione. Ho anche un blog (www.georgie.co.uk) quindi direi che sono abbastanza “connessa” e mi piace restare aggiornata su tutto ma cerco anche di non trascorrere troppo tempo appiccicata ad uno schermo.
Progetti per il futuro? qual è il tuo lavoro dei sogni?
Ah ah direi Victoria’s Secret senza dubbio! Beh dai…parlando seriamente per ora studio all’università e penso di laurearmi fra 3 anni e poi chi lo sa, sono eccitata di vedere cosa succederà poi!
Which was the first picture that someone took of you? Your impression about the first picture, first photo shoot.
My first photoshoot was for my mums friend, who is the editor of on online lounge, yoga and sportswear shop. It was a very casual shoot, on our family farm in Norfolk, with a just handful of looks.I remember not knowing what to do at al! Even though you’d think it would feel pretty normal to have someone take a photo of you..! I didn’t really know what to expect of the photos so I just remember being pretty happy!
What have you learned from working as a model?
I have learned loads from working as a model. Not only things like how to catwalk, and my angles, but that you have to always be prepared for anything, as everything is so unpredictable.
What is the thing you like the most and the least about modeling?
I love meeting and working with new people, and the surreal experiences you sometimes find yourself in, and I’d probably say that the last minute schedules and the pressure to fit a certain criteria I like the least.
Where have you traveled with modeling? What has been your favorite city to visit?
I did a campaign shoot in Valencia, which was pretty cool as I’ve never been there before, and some work in Amsterdam, but I haven’t actually travelled very much with modelling.. I’d like to go and work in Australia or New York for a bit.
The weirdest or funniest thing that happened on a set?
The weirdest things on set have probably got to be some of the clothes, or hairstyles we have had to shoot…
Modeling is also about waiting – waiting for you make up, hair done…. how do you spend your “waiting time” ?
Yes lots of waiting, waiting at castings is ok because you have friends there to chat to, on a shoot, I would usually chat to the hair or makeup artist, and waiting on tubes and busses- I’m a bit of a nerd so I like to read :-).
What is your relationship with fashion? Do you have your own style, do you like to play with clothes and colors?
I’m not a religious fashion follower, but I like to follow the broad seasonal trends, I think that a classic look is always a winner! I do like to play with colours too, and I have clothes that I like to wear so if that counts as my own style?
Your relationship with social media, photos, “Instagram”..? You cannot live without it or sometimes you prefer to be “offline”?
Instagram is such a great tool in the fashion industry, as everything is so visual, so updating your feed with recent shoots etc can actually be great self-promotion! I also have a blog (www.georgie.co.uk), so I feel like I need to keep in touch with the social media world, but I try not to spend too much time on it and definitely think it is important to have breaks every now and again.
What are you excited about doing next? What is your next dream job?
Haha Victoria’s Secret all the way! No, well I’m currently at uni, so I will finish my degree in about 3 years, and then who knows, excited to see what happens really!
