Spotlight on Migle Palkeviciute.

Young and beautiful Migle from Vilnius, Lithuania. Interview by Juste Zilionyte.

Which was the first picture that someone took of you? Your impression about the first picture, first photo shoot.

I was always interested in photography, taking pictures of my friends and etc. Once they offered to take some pictures of me and I didn’t mind that! In fact when I saw the pictures I realized that my face and body is suitable for modeling. Therefore I sent my pictures to a modeling agency and only few minutes after I got an invitation to their office.

What have you learned from working as a model?

I’ve changed a lot as a person. I have become a lot more broadminded because I have been modeling since I was 13. Interacting with older people made me even more easy-going and self-confident.

What is the thing you like the most and the least about modeling ?

Travelling, meeting new people, being a part of a team and making art are the great things about modeling. Being away, missing your family and friends are the most terrible.

How do you think your family feels about you working as a model? (traveling, separated for months etc)

My mother is always very supportive. She wants me to experience lots of things in life and figure out what is suitable for me. Although it is very tough for her to be far away.

Where have you traveled with modeling? What has been your favorite city to visit?

Since I’m only sixteen and I find my education very important – I can only travel during my summer vacation. One summer I stayed in Taiwan, Taipei. Living life on your own in the city you don’t even know when you’re fifteen is a really challenging experience.

The weirdest or funniest thing that happened on a set?

I can’t recall anything specific because there is always something funny that is happening on a set. But one thing really ingrained. I had to wear super futuristic alien-like clothes, during the shooting I figured that on the previous set these clothes were worn by men, wearing crazy makeup and high heels. That didn’t give much joy and the result was also very strange…

Modeling is also about patience. How do you spend your time while waiting for your make up and hair done ?

Interacting with people! Time flies really fast when you communicate! Unless you’re in another country, where the make-up artists can’t speak English. Then your phone is your best friend.

What is your relationship with fashion? You have your own style, you like to play with clothes and colors?

‘’Fashion is my passion’’ is a phrase I’ve heard on FashionTV a couple of years ago. At some point I could relate to that. I love being different! My style is always changing from hipster to classic. I just love trying out new things!

Your relationship with social media, photos, “Instagram” ..? You cannot live without it or sometimes you prefer to be “offline”?

These days, social media is a very important marketing tool. People in fashion world usually get along with it really well. I try not to stay aside, I like uploading pictures on instagram [@meg_jolie], for me it’s just an another artistic activity.

What are you excited about doing next? What is your next dream job?

I’m excited for each and every job I’ll have in the future, although traveling to the United States would excite me the most!
