Ieva is one of the beauties we have discovered in Lithuania. Interview by Juste Zilionyte.

Which was the first picture that someone took of you? Your impression about the first picture, first photo shoot.

My first professional photoshoot abroad was in Milano. I can’t remember the name of photographer, but I remember that it was an interesting experience.

What have you learned from working as a model?

I have learned that the most important thing to get a good relationship is to be self-confident and not be afraid to talk.

What is the thing you like the most and the least about modeling ?

The thing I like the most is probably the same as for every model – traveling and opportunity to see and meet a lot of new people in many different places. The thing I like the least about modeling is that you need to be away from home for a long time (probably that’s why I decided to enter the university in my country and to stay in Lithuania).

How do you think your family feels about your modeling job? (traveling, separated for months etc.)

While I was traveling abroad my family was supporting me and feeling happy that I have an opportunity for this kind of experience. I wasn’t even disrespected when I decided to take a gap year after school.

Where have you traveled with modeling? What has been your favorite city to visit?

The main cities that I’ve traveled were Milano, Paris, Mexico, Miami and New York. New York is probably the city that I adore the most.

The weirdest or funniest thing that happened on a set?

It’s hard to remember now. But one thing that usually happens is that I don’t really like and I am afraid of cats and in many studios they have a cat and it always follows just me 🙂

Modeling is also about waiting – waiting for you make up, hair done…. how do you spend your “waiting time” ?

It depends on a mood. Sometimes I read some articles or books, sometimes I am just exploring internet or communicating with other people.

Your relationship with social media, photos, “Instagram” ..? You cannot live without it or sometimes you prefer to be “offline”?

I noticed that if I am away from home and my close people I use social media 10 times more than being at home.  Before, I was kind of addicted of posting pictures or checking social media every minute but now I recognized that I need it a lot less  and it’s becoming just a way to read some news but not to post hundreds of selfies.

What are you excited about doing next? What is your next dream job?

I tried to be a model but I realized that it is not my favorite thing to do, even if I was working pretty successfully. Now it has became just a second or third part of my life – when I have more free time or when I get a better job suggestion. I started studying English Philology in Vilnius and I feel very  happy that I can stay in my hometown, use my experience of traveling and sometimes still work as a model.

Qual è stata la prima foto che ti hanno scattato? quali le tue impressioni sul tuo primo photo shoot?

Il mio primo photo shoot professionale è stato a Milano, non ricordo il nome del fotografo ma ricordo che fu un’esperienza molto interessante 

Cosa hai imparato nel lavorare come modella?

Ho imparato che la cosa più importante che ho imparato è l’essere sicura di me e non aver paura di parlare e di esprimere la mia opinione, questa è la chiave per una buona foto.

Cosa ti piace di più e cosa di meno nel tuo lavoro?

La cosa che amo di più (come per quasi tutte le modelle) è viaggiare e la possibilità di vedere e incontrare nuove persone in posti così diversi. La cosa che mi piace di meno è il fato di essere lontana da casa per periodi più o meno lunghi e questo è uno dei motivi per cui ho deciso di iscrivermi all’università e restare in Lituania.

La tua famiglia, che ne pensa del tuo lavoro?

Quando ero in viaggio la mia famiglia mi ha sempre supportato ed è stata sempre contenta del fatto che avessi l’opportunità di vivere questa esperienza…e anche quando ho deciso di prendermi una pausa di un anno dagli studi non hanno avuto niente in contrario.

Dove sei stata grazie al tuo lavoro? qual è stata la città che ti ha colpito di più?

Milano, Parigi, Miami e New York e il Messico. New York è la città che mi piace di più in assoluto.

La cosa più strana o divertente che ti è capitata su un set?

Non ricordo una cosa in particolare, ma una cosa che capita spesso e che non mi piace per niente è il fatto che ho paura dei gatti e in molti studi c’è sempre un gatto…che alla fine segue solo me :-(.

Fare la modella è anche aspettare…aspettare per il trucco o il parrucco…come utilizzi questo tempo di attesa?

Dipende dall’umore. A volte leggo libri o articoli su internet a volte scambio messaggi con i miei amici.

Che rapporto hai con i social media? non ne puoi fare a meno o a volte preferisci essere “off-line”?

Il mio rapporto è cambiato col tempo, prima postavo un sacco di foto e di selfie ora lo faccio molto meno e li utilizzo per lo più per rimanere aggiornata con le news, una cosa che però ho notato è che se sono lontana da casa e dalle persone che amo uso i social media 10 volte di più di quando invece sono a casa.

Progetti per il futuro? quale il lavoro che vorresti fare dopo?

Ho provato a lavorare come modella e benché andasse molto bene ho capito che non è la cosa che preferisco fare…adesso è diventata solo una parte della mia vita che faccio quando ho una buona proposta e ho un po’ di tempo libero. Ho iniziato a studiare Filologia Inglese a Vilnius e mi piace un sacco e amo soprattutto il fatto che posso stare e vivere la maggior parte del tempo nella mia città, posso sempre usare le mie esperienze di viaggio e a volte fare la modella.
