Anne Sofie Madsen SS 2016 at PFW

Showing for the second time at Paris fashion week official calendar, Danish designer Anne Sofie Madsen, explores the struggle between the confessed desire to dress and the un-confessed desire to undress in her Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

This collection undoubtedly embodies the contrast between something extremely vulnerable and private but at the same time exposed and powerfully seductive.

These feelings are evoked by the fusion of reinterpreted corsetry and soft layering of organza, presented alongside strict shapes of draped denim and light wool.

Flasher coats open up to reveal floating lace and tenderly crafted smocks. Rigid gridded structures and latex combined with delicate floral embroideries; a fluidity between desire and detachment.

Bio: Having graduated from the Roya Danish academy of Fine Arts, Madsen’s career has gone from strength to strength. Previous roles include training under John Galliano, and later working for Alexander McQueen. The label Anne Sofie  Madsen was founded in 2011 and since her collections have been presented at London, Milan and Copenhagen fashion weeks. Her most recent project has been her footwear collaboration with Farewell.
