Winter is Coming

Manish Arora’s Autumn Winter 2015/16 collection is captured on film in the designer’s debut campaign, shot on the streets of Paris.

Legendary model and singer Debra Shaw is lensed by fashion and portrait photographer Charles Freger and styled by Joanna Schlenzka. Famed for his arresting portraits of various social tribes and their accompanying uniforms, Freger presents Shaw as a modern-day urban warrior.

The Amazonian beauty embodies the regally heroic spirit of the collection in rich brocades, embellished velvets and sweeping capes. The medieval influences of the AW collection are translated into the pop universe that is Manish Arora’s signature, with sporty fur-trimmed sneakers, bubblegum-bright armour underpinnings, lavishly opulent headpieces and quirky cartoon skull bags.

Freger’s characteristic portrait style and idiosyncratic poses perfectly interpret the mythological nature of the collection, whilst Debra Shaw’s arresting, unconventional beauty makes her the perfect heroine of the piece. The images will be placed around Paris during SS16 Fashion Week.
