Études Studio footwear line Dérives

For several years, It has been an ongoing project for Études Studio to develop a line of footwear that reflects the motives of the brand. After thoroughly developing the Études silhouette, the final piece remaining was the shoes.Through a collaboration with shoe designer Achilles Ion Gabriel, and through Études Studio’s art and design backgrounds, DÉRIVES gained the ability to expand and be fully realized. The shoes are handmade in Portugal with the same careful consideration that is taken with the rest of the collection. The shoes come in three shapes: a slip on loafer, a derby and a chelsea boot. Inspired by our daily interactions with the cities we reside in, the three styles are respectfully named Passage, Avenue and Canal.

The ideology behind DÉRIVES comes from the drive to develop a versatile line of footwear for city dwellers; something that is visually and technically strong that holds up flawlessly with daily life. The shoes are graphically composed of a leather upper and a rubber sole, accompanied by subtly exaggerated components; such as large elastic bands found on the boot and the slip on loafer. All of the shoes incorporate the same signature detail: an exaggerated heel tab for putting on the shoe with ease, as well as creating an additional distinguishing detail that sets the shoes apart from the others. The shoes comes in two colorways: black and Études blue, with respectively inverted details. Through the addition of DÉRIVES, Études Studio completes their unique silhouette, and at the same time defining a holistic Études lifestyle.
