For Resort 2016, Mary Katrantzou explores the merging of the two paradigms. Embracing a fascination with the autonomous qualities of pure form and colour, this pursuit of optical phenomena is juxtaposed with traditional botanical illustrations from 18th century studies of plant morphology, herbals and pharmacopeia. A symbiosis of geometric lines and hand painted flora and the delineation of both, form the thematic entity that inspires the imagery, fabrication and silhouette in this collection.

Per la collezione resort 2016 Mary Katrantzou esplora la fusione di due paradigmi. Si lascia trasportare dalla fascinazione delle qualità autonome della pura forma e del colore, questa ricerca sui fenomeni ottici è contrapposta alle tradizionali illustrazioni dai libri e dagli studi del 18° secolo sulla morfologia delle piante e della farmacopea. Una simbiosi di linee geometriche e fiori dipinti a mano raccontano la tematica che ispira l’immaginario la fabbricazione e la silhouette in questa collezione.
