Fashion Clash Festival 2015    

Fashion Clash crede che la moda come una forma d’arte può discutere criticamente su temi controversi della società, quest’anno il tema è “Gender”. Questo tema ha modellato sia la campagna adv che il festival in generale ed è particolarmente presente nell’area dedicata alla mostra, le varie performance e molte altre location situate nel centro e dintorni di Maastricht. Il concetto di genere si riferisce a implicazioni socioculturali che definiscono il nostro sesso biologico semplicemente mettendo dei ruoli che differenziano la mascolinità dalla femminilità.

Gli scorsi mesi hanno visto molti fashion designer come ad esempio Vivienne Westwood, Dries van Noten o Givenchy, decidere di rompere la tradizionale divisione e stereotipo di genere nella moda. Ad esempio portando in passerella una gonna per l’uomo, un capo che è ancora visto come riservato ed esclusivo uso delle donne, e anche l’espansione e diffusione dell’unisex come il nuovo androgino.

Persino Selfridges ha aperto un pop-up store con in vendita abiti genderless. Un mondo dove tutti i limiti e le restrizioni riguardo i ruoli di genere e l’identità non esiste ancora, sarà possibile una realtà simile nel futuro?

Fashion Clash Festival 2015 vi invita a celebrare la diversità delle persone e stimolarle ad esprimere il loro vero essere, sia che siate dei provocatori o dei conformisti. Crediamo che gli abiti siano un’estensione dell’identità personale. Un’identità autonoma che ognuno ha il diritto e la libertà di costruire da se e per se. Da questa prospettiva la moda ha un importante funzione di acquisizione di consapevolezza e forza, può aiutare ad accettare chi è diverso da noi. Molti designer e artisti mostrareno la loro visione di “Gender” durante la mostra del Fashion Clash Festival 2015 che sarà proprio vicino alle passerelle dei défilé.

Fashion Clash Festival 2015 la 7° edizione del festival di moda internazionale e interdisciplinare avrà luogo dall’11 Giugno al 14 Giugno a Maastricht.

Il programma dei 4 giorni comprende: sfilate dei più promettenti talenti creativi di tutto il mondo, mostre, proiezioni di film e documentari sulla moda, performance di teatro e danza, pop-up store, conferenze, workshop e un programma parallelo che darà la possibilità a giovani professionisti del settori di mostrare il proprio lavoro a una platea di altri professionisti e artisti provenienti da ogni parte del mondo.

Fashion Clash Festival 2015 Theme – GENDER

Fashion Clash  believes that fashion as an art form can critically discuss current controversial issues which are discussed in society. This year’s overarching theme during the Fashion Clash Festival 2015 is Gender.

This theme shapes the campaign and the overall festival but is mostly visible in the exhibition area, various performances as well as several locations situated in and around Maastricht city centre. The concept of gender refers to sociocultural implications that define our biological sex – simply put the roles that differentiate between masculinity and femininity.

The past few months we have seen many fashion designers, such as Vivienne Westwood, Dries van Noten or Givenchy, decide to break the traditional gender stereotypes in fashion. For instance presenting male’s skirts, which are still viewed as solely reserved for women, or the rise of unisex as the new androgynous. Even selfridges has pioneered with a pop-up store offering genderless clothing. This has led us to imagine a world without gender. A world where all restrictive boundaries regarding gender roles and identities don’t exist. Is this a possible reality ?

Fashion Clash Festival 2015 would like to invite you to celebrate the diversity of people and stimulate them to express their true self, whether that be provocateurs or conformists. We believe clothing is an extension of personal identity. An autonomous identity an individual has the right and freedom to build themselves. From this perspective fashion has an important empowering function, it can aid us to accept those that are different. Various designers and artists are going to present their vision of gender during the Fashion Clash Festival 2015 Exhibition, which is situated next to the runway shows.

Fashion Clash Festival 2015 , the 7th edition of the international and interdisciplinary fashion festival takes place on June 11th – 14th in Maastricht. The 4-day festival program complete with fashion shows showcasing upcoming creative talent, exhibitions, fashion film, theatre and dance performances, pop-up stores, lectures, workshops and a dynamic Side Program, gives promising young professionals from across the globe the opportunity to present their work to a diverse international audience and industry professionals.
