Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty 
Inaugurata il 14 Marzo 2015 la mostra antologica dedicata ad Alexander McQueen nello storico museo Victoria & Albert Museum di Londra. (14 Marzo-2 Agosto 2015)

Questa mostra è stata per la prima volta allestita al Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York nel 2011, curata da Andrew Bolton, ha accolto più di 650000 visitatori in appena 3 mesi, un record assoluto per una mostra dedicata alla moda in un museo. Ora finalmente arriva a Londra ed è la prima retrospettiva dedicata a McQueen in Europa. La mostra inglese è curata da Claire Wilcox, design di Sam Gainsbury, e rappresenta una sorta di ritorno a casa per il designer londinese. Ricchissimo l’allestimento con tantissimi bozzetti e studi mai visti prima, tessuti e accessori, video e tutto quello che comprende il suo lavoro dalla sua collezione con cui ha ottenuto il MA nel 1992 fino alla collezione (mai terminata) autumn/winter 2010, il Victoria & Albert museum è stato sempre grande fonte di ispirazione per McQueen.

Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty was first staged at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2011. Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibition attracted over 650,000 visitors in three months – a record for a fashion exhibition at the museum. Now on display in London at the Victoria & Albert Museum, Savage Beauty is the first retrospective of Alexander McQueen’s work in Europe. Curated by Claire Wilcox and designed by Sam Gainsbury, the exhibition at the V&A is a home-coming for the London-born designer, and the largest showcase of McQueen’s work to date; featuring previously unseen sketches, garments and accessories that take in everything from his 1992 MA graduate collection to his unfinished Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, in a museum that was a source of inspiration for the designer.
