“The Red Shoes”

Questa stagione, la ragazza Olympia Le tan è una pin-up posseduta, come una ballerina in acido o una Kate Bush impazzita…è elegante e sexy, feroce e fragile, spavalda ma femminile.

Per l’autunno inverno 2015 Olympia ha mescolato le ispirazioni provenienti dai balletti russi di Diaghilev con la sua amata musa Kate Bush e un po’ di nostalgia della Londra degli anni ’70. il tutto con la solita spruzzata del suo humour spregiudicato..

I colori vanno dal rosa cipria al grigio topo e un leggerissimo verde oliva fino ad arrivare a un intenso burgundy o blu di Prussia.

I materiali restano quelli tradizionali, Harris tweed e velluti di cotone che ricordano l’infanzia molto british di Olympia, 2 tweed realizzati a mano sono state fatti appositamente per la collezione dalla maestra francese Malhia Kent, cotone mescolato con macramé e chiffon di seta stampato con i disegni di Pierre Le Tan (gruppi di ballerine o bozzetti dei costumi per un balletto immaginario).

Queste illustrazioni insieme ad altre più grafiche in bianco e nero diventano motivi che si possono trovare sulle applicazioni ricamate di feltro, e danzano su una gonna o si arrampicano su un paio di pantaloni.

Il “Lago dei Cigni” e “Lo schiaccianoci” fanno una piccola apparizione in una borsa o su una cintura.

This season, the OLT girl is a possessed pin-up, like a ballerina on mushrooms or a demented Kate Bush. She is elegant and sexy, fierce yet fragile, bold but feminine.

For fall-winter 2015, Olympia Le-Tan combined inspiration from Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes with her beloved Kate Bush, and some 70s London nostalgia, adding the usual touch of humour and naughtiness.

The colours go from soft dusty pink, mousey grey and light olive green, to a more intense burgundy or Prussian blue.

The fabrics are traditional, Harris tweeds and cotton velvets reminiscent of Olympia’s very British childhood, 2 hand-woven tweeds were made exclusively for the collection by French mill Malhia Kent, a cotton organdy is mixed with macramé while the silk chiffon is printed with Pierre Le-Tan’s drawings of the season (a bunch of trippy ballerinas or sketches for the costumes of an imaginary ballet).

Those illustrations as well as some more graphic black and white motifs are turned into felt appliqué embroideries, dancing around a skirt or crawling up a pair of trousers.

Swan Lake and The Nutcracker also make an appearance in bag or belt form. And the décor’s almost closed curtain becomes surrealist sequin embroidery on some evening looks.
