The new Gucci’s Time

Con Alessandro Michele si apre un nuovo tempo per Gucci o meglio un “non -tempo” riprendendo la citazione di Barthes che segna il mood della collezione FW del brand italiano:”The Contemporary is the untimely”. Più di non tempo però si dovrebbe parlare di un nuovo corso. Le connotazioni iconografiche dei ’70 Boho al centro tra il mood Tenenbaum e la flower generation sono sicuramente localizzate in un preciso periodo della storia della  moda, nuovo è invece il modo di reinventarle in forme e accessori. Ed è infatti sulla nuova Gucci bag che vogliamo puntare l’attenzione. Alessandro Michele già punta di diamante del department accessori del brand, l’impreziosisce con una catena in metallo brunito. L’accessorio tra i più desiderati al mondo, si adorna per la FW15  anche di ricami preraffaelliti e di una nuova fibbia vintage, mentre il classico printed in doppia g si divide la scena con geometrici inserti in suede.

A new time for Gucci has come…with Alessandro Michele as creative director, we’d better talk about a “not-time” or “un-time” if we read the Roland Barthes’ quote (“The Contemporary is the untimely”) that is used to describe the mood of the new collection. It’s not an “un-time” then but it’s a new path for Gucci.

The iconography of the new collection goes from ’70’s Boho in between Tenembaum mood and flower power generation and are precisely bound to a certain fashion time period, new it’s the way to reinvent and restyle into new shapes, silhouettes…both for clothes and accessories’ design.

It’s the new Gucci Bag that made us sigh and jump with joy, Alessandro Michele (he was already doing great in the Gucci’s accessories before becoming Gucci’s creative director) makes it even more beautiful and precious with dark metal chain. The most desired accessory is adorned with pre-Raphaelite embroidery and a vintage belt, the classic double “G” pattern is enriched with geometric suede parts.
