ENGLISH VERSION

Anna K’s Fall Winter 15 show opened gingerly with a succession of innocent notes on the xylophone and marimba. The music exploded into a soundtrack as fragile young girls trotted down the runway.

The first look was a fanciful baby-doll dress speckled with scaled up bows, with a wooden matchbox purse in hand. The show quickly progressed into pink woollen pinafores dotted with colourful candy-like crystals.

Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Match Girl inspired this collection. Where there is poverty, fantasy is immediately present. Anna K drew upon that simultaneous equation and presented a make-believe world full of candies, in a starving girl’s young mind.

The 19 year old Ukrainian designer herself walked down the runway in the final look – a full silver foiled dress with a huge bow-piece centered on the chest. She has confirmed that we have indeed entered her world – possibly a realm where harsh realities are relieved by reverie.

Anna K’s tender age is salient in the inception of her concept. The construction of her clothes fully reveal the maturity of her design prowess.
