Ç x Façonnable by Mira Mikati 
Lo spirito dell’Estate non è mai troppo lontano da Ç x Façonnable e considerando le sue radici nella “French Rivera”, il sole la sabbia e il mare sono un naturale sfondo, immancabile. Per questa stagione Mira Mikati (la direttrice creativa del marchio) ha preso ispirazione letteralmente dalla spiaggia e dall’iconica surf culture Californiana. “È tutto nella ragazza che è alla continua ricerca dell’onda perfetta” dice Mikati che da poco si è appassionata a questo sport. “Può surfare a Malibu e idealmente lanciarsi al tramonto sulle onde della Hawaii il giorno dopo”.
E quale sarebbe il guardaroba di questa surfista giramondo? In molti modi la collezione ci fa dare uno sguardo all’interno della sua valigia: short, bermuda in denim e jacket bomber leggere vengono ricamate da divertenti immagini care all’iconografia “SoCal”…smile, palme e camper colorati. In aggiunta a un sottofondo tomboy c’è sempre un tocco di femminilità: bianche camicie di cotone e gonne a cerchio sono punteggiate da margheritine e Hibiscus come quelli che troveresti a Honolulu.
Ovviamente scarpe basse! “Quando sei in vacanza l’ultima cosa che vuoi fare e mettere i tacchi” dice Mikati. “Ecco perché ho fatto questa scelta. Le borse sono state create in Ecuador con la label di accessori “etici” Sensi. Completano il look braccialetti dell’amicizia con perline africane e charm dal sapore di oceano, un vibe west coast hippie pervade tutta la linea grazie al designer Ayanoor.
Gillian Zinser (attrice e surfer) è la protagonista del look book, la perfetta musa per la collezione di questa stagione. A fotografarla un altro surfista e fotografo, Max Farago, che l’ha fotografata a Los Angeles. Farago è l’ultimo fotografo che collabora con il marchio che nel passato ha scelto Tommy Ton e Garance Dorè.
The spirit of summer is never too far from home at Ç x Façonnable by Mira Mikati, and given the brand’s French Rivera roots, that idea of sun, sea and sand is a natural backdrop. This season Creative Director Mira Mikati took her inspiration to the beach quite literally, starting with the surf culture of the California coastline. “It’s really about the girl who is always searching for the perfect wave,” says Mikati, a recent convert to the sport. “She might hit the surf in Malibu, and jet off into the sunset for Hawaii the next day.”
So what would a cool surfer girl like this pack for her getaway? In many ways the new collection gives you a peek inside her suitcase. Board shorts, denim bermudas and light bomber jackets come embroidered with cheerful SoCal iconography—smiley faces, palm trees and brightly colored camper vans. In additional to tomboy basics, there’s a feminine streak here too, and crisp white cotton circle skirts and sundresses are dotted with daisies and the kind of hibiscus flowers you might find growing in Honolulu.
And it only makes sense that the collection be grounded with a slip-on plimsole, the surfer’s sneaker of choice. “When you’re on holiday you don’t want to wear heels,” says Mikati. “And that sense of ease was on my mind.” Hand-painted by fashion students with charming sailor stripes and surfboards, the new shoes are a stylish pick-me-up—ditto for the chic made-in-Ecuador straw handbags that were created with ethical accessories label Sensi. Friendship bracelets with African beads and ocean charms add to the West Coast hippie vibes and come courtesy of jewelry designer Ayanoor.
Actress an avid surfer Gillian Zinser stars in the new Ç x Façonnable by Mira Mikati look book. With beachy waves and a laidback attitude, she’s a fitting muse for the new season. Fellow surf enthusiast photographer Max Farago captured the mood of spring 2015, and shot Zinser on location in Los Angeles. He follows in a line of collaborators that includes, legendary photographer Hans Feurer and street style favorites like Tommy Ton and Garance Doré.
