“The Walkabout” è un tributo alla bellezza e alla forza di un drammatico fenomeno climatico e alla vita selvaggia sul pianeta terra.
I riferimenti climatici e all’ambiente sono le componenti del personale santuario della moda di Maryme-Jimmypaul per questa collezione, un luogo dove elementi intimi e nascosti si radunano. Piuttosto che cercare di proteggersi dai cambiamenti climatici, dalle mutazioni e dai disastri, Maryme-Jimmypaul vogliono lasciarsi avvolgere e sentire nel profondo la catarsi, dove i sacri elementi trasformano uno stato drammatico in uno più melanconico.
Per questa collezione viene usata una stampa flower java oversize, disegnata e realizzata in Olanda da Vlisco. Unendo le forze con le stampe colorate e vibranti di Vlisco e la fantasia e il genio creativo di Maryme-Jimmypaul, il risultato è la collezione limitata Spring/Summer 2015.
Maryme-Jimmypaul
Il duo di designer lavorano in un’area fra arte e moda. Prendendo ispirazione dalle loro storie, mondi, personaggi e visione sulla pop culture attuale e passata, mostrano la moda da una prospettiva diversa.
Continuamente forzando i confini della forma, delle texture e dei colori, lavorando sulla scultoreità per ottenere un look forte e altamente evocativo. Questo sentimento, questa emozione…è uno dei fattori più importanti nel lavoro di Maryme-Jimmypaul.
Con l’aiuto di differenti discipline, dall’arte al mondo della moda, Maryme-Jimmypaul portano colui che osserva le loro creazioni nel loro mondo fatato, bizzarro, grandioso, fantastico…l’effetto è un’esplosione tipo i cartoni animati di Bugs Bunny.
The Walkabout is the Spring/Summer 2015 collection of Maryme-Jimmypaul.
“The Walkabout” is a tribute to the beauty of strong and dramatic climate phenomena and the wildlife elements acting on the planet.
The climatic and environmental references are the components of Maryme-Jimmypaul’s SS2015 sanctuary: a place where intimate elements come together. Rather than trying to protect themselves from climate mutations and disasters, Maryme-Jimmypaul want to embrace and feel at home in the catharsis, where the sacred elements transform from an aggressive and dramatic state into a more melancholic one.
For this collection, Maryme-Jimmypaul is using an oversized Java flower print, designed and manufactured in the Netherlands by Vlisco. Combining the forces of Vlisco’s colorful and vibrant print design and Maryme-Jimmypaul’s eerie and fantasy fashion perspective, the result is a unique, limited-edition Spring/Summer collection presented during Paris Fashion Week in September 2014.
Maryme-Jimmypaul
works with the area that exists between art and fashion. Taking inspiration from their own created stories, worlds, people and view on the current (and past) pop culture, they show fashion in a different way.
Constantly pushing the boundaries of shape, textures and colors, they raise eyebrows with their big, sculptural works that not only provide a surprising look, but also evoke a feeling. This feeling, or emotion, is one of the most important factors in the works of Maryme-Jimmypaul. It explains to the viewer what the collection is about and what the label stands for at that particular time.
With the help of different disciplines from the art and fashion world, Maryme-Jimmypaul takes the viewer into the beautiful, eerie, humorous, bizarre, grandiose fantasy fashion world of Maryme-Jimmypaul, through its unique presentation. The end result is an explosion in the face, like a Bugs Bunny cartoon.
