The Olympic snowboard champion Iouri Podladtchikov  is the star of the new campaign for Akris punto, the sporty sister line by the Swiss fashion house.

Albert Kriemler found his inspiration for Akris punto Fall/Winter 2014/15 in snowboarding. To express the relaxed yet energetic spirit of the Akris punto woman, he took influences from the young and dynamic sport and presents them in surprising and feminine ways. Functional details and signature photo prints with themes from winter sports are main features. For the first time, a male model appears in the campaign for Akris punto: Iouri Podladtchikov, a master in snowboarding and Olympic champion of the half pipe competition in Sochi, Russia.

The 25-year-old Swiss athlete with Russian roots is well on his way, even off the slopes. He moves lightly in the mountains as well as in the city, always remaining authentic. Albert Kriemler says about the collaboration with the successful snowboarder: “Iouri is very focused. He is keen to discover trends and new developments in sports but also in fashion and photography. He is curious and open-minded and the playful way he pursues his dreams corresponds very well with our approach at Akris punto.“

Iouri found the cooperation appealing from his own creative point of view: “The fashion world has fascinated me for a long time, especially when seen through the lens of a camera. I aspire to work as a successful fashion photographer and have already gained some experience. I have great respect for the creative work of Albert Kriemler and what he has accomplished. Our fashion shoot for Akris punto has reinforced my desire to further develop my own artistic side.” Iouri begins his studies of art history in autumn 2014 at the University of Zurich and continues to make use of his camera. Follow his photographic contributions on his personal Tumblr (lovemeorleavemetodie.tumblr.com).

The campaign was shot by London based Swedish photographer Andreas Larsson on location in the Swiss Alps: In Grevasalvas, a secluded village near Sils in Engadin. All staff and equipment for the shoot were transported by a helicopter to the production site.
