In the spirit of the Sacai collection, Sacai Luck visits the themes of hybridization with classic menswear styles such as the cardigan, V-neck sweater, button down shirt with a relaxed and playful attitude.

For the Spring/Summer 2015 season, the Sacai Luck collection explores the idea of masculine styles with subtle femininity brought about through the use of contrasting materials, shapes and colors. The key styles from the collection include men’s style work-wear, utility wear and MA-1 flight jacket that are classic styles often seen in menswear but re-interpreted with the use of crisp pinstripe suiting as well as uncut velvet to create dimensionality. The collection also features the usage of delicate boarder lace and cotton shirting in dresses, skirt and jackets. Abe also wanted to reexamine the function of the lining by maintaining all the details but making them in summer tweeds, boarder lace and uncut velvet and giving it a softer expression with the signature Sacai three dimensionality.

Fabric creation and research has always been an important step in the creation of all Sacai collections. The stiff cotton herringbone and stripe suiting material was intentionally loomed by a denim looming machine for a stiffer taughter finish and Abe also discovered that uncut velvet has a very soft smooth yet taught texture before the thread cutting process that creates the pile in what is commonly seen in velvet.

Other shapes and details include experimentation of combining two different patterns and combining them with tweeds, knits and grosgrain ribbons.

The color palette is based around white, navy, and khaki but also includes brighter colors such as blue, yellow, and orange. Two styles of utilitarian style sandals in two colors, black and white, are also offered in this Spring Summer 15 collection.
