The spring session of the fashion week will take place under the motto “fashion is art” and will continue the theme of ethics and sustainable development. The program includes over 17 brands, among which there are debutants, renowned Latvian brands, and international labels. Additionally, this season, special attention will be given to exhibitions, bridging the boundaries between the fashion industry and visual arts.

The opening of the fashion week in Riga will be marked by a seminar and panel discussion on the topic of “Conscious Fashion Today” in collaboration with the department store Stockmann. Latvian and international industry experts will participate in it.
“The Baltic Fashion Federation is part of the European Fashion Alliance (EFA), within which the theme of sustainable development and conscious consumption is raised particularly sharply year after year. At the educational events of RFW, recognized experts not only share knowledge but also demonstrate, through their own example, the transition to zero-waste production, as well as the use of eco-materials. We observe that these trends are being adopted by Latvian designers,” says Elena Strahova, president of the Baltic Fashion Federation.

On the second day of RFW, April 9th, the shows will take place in a new unexpected location – the office complex Verde. In urban spaces, designer Jekaterina Shehurina from the Katya Katya brand will present a collection of wedding dresses in a new interpretation. The Latvian brand Verens will demonstrate seamless products based on modern sewing technology. Meanwhile, designer Anna Kruz (Anna Kruz brand), aiming to express feminine variability and elegance, will resort to classic silhouettes complemented by provocative details and metallic materials. On the same day, guests of the event will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves with collections from debutants from three Baltic countries – Rimgailaite Costume (Lithuania), Henna (Latvia), ABFD Swimwear (Estonia).

On the main podium of the capital, mammoth brands of Latvian fashion will showcase current trends – Iveta Vecmane, Natalija Jansone, Selina Keer, Una Bērziņa, BAE by Katya Shehurina, Dobrzanska, as well as Ivo Nikkolo from Estonia. In turn, Stockmann will present the results of a joint collaboration with Finnish designer Miia Halmesmaa.

The program of the Riga Fashion Week this season is rich in exhibitions featuring visual, textile, and decorative arts. The organizers aim to acquaint guests of the event not only with fashion trends but also with the creativity of talents in related art industries. Following this initiative, the RFW program includes a screening of a film about the work of designer Alexander McQueen, timed to coincide with the designer’s 55th birthday. Additionally, the image of the current RFW is inspired by the theatrical and dramatic aesthetics of the collections of the famous designer and is created with the help of artificial intelligence.

Fashion Week in Riga will not be without parties. It is worth noting that this season RIGA FASHION WEEK will take place from April 8th to 11th.
