TOD’S FW24
For his first collection, Creative Director Matteo Tamburini creates a new chapter for Tod’s, making the spirit of the brand, rooted in the Italian lifestyle and the excellent quality of its products, even more contemporary. After the Ansaldo Laboratories of the Teatro alla Scala and the Pavilion of Contemporary Art, for the fashion show of the FW2024/25 collection, Tod’s chooses one of the places of the imagination of Milan, symbol of the energy and movement that animate it, the warehouse of historic Darsena trams.
Tod’s has always defined the essence of Italian style: natural and timeless elegance, relaxed formality, great quality and the search for precious and sophisticated workmanship. The collection reinterprets the rules of saddlery, through a deconstructed luxury that defines a new contemporary craftsmanship.
Under the creative direction of Matteo Tamburini, the duality between urban life and free time, formal and informal, tradition and innovation, permeates the collection, characterized by essential and sophisticated garments: the nappa leather trench coat, the men’s coat in fabric or doubled leather in wool, the oversized Field Jacket, the enveloping cape edged in leather. The tailored suits in wool twill have cigarette trousers with large lapels and collarless or single-breasted jackets, stolen from the men’s wardrobe. Cashmere or wool and silk knitwear layers cardigan on cardigan and renews the idea of the twin set.
The new hallmark of Tod’s footwear, a thin metal band reinterprets iconic models such as the Gommino and the moccasin, while the Yorky version of the Gommino is enriched with thin fringes that create movement with every step. The boots, inspired by motorcyclists, become feminine thanks to brushed leathers that enhance the Italian artisan quality. The bags with destructured lines enhance shapes and precious materials. The Tod’s heritage is renewed through the reinterpretation of the Di Bag Swing, in soft and precious leathers, with inverted handles on the sides and with oversized volumes and saddlery stitching.
Leather is the great protagonist of the history of Tod’s and also of this collection, which celebrates the highest quality raw materials in infinite processes. The collection’s palette favors natural skin tones and enhances the expertly handmade finishes.
