Burberry X Vestiaire Collective
Burberry announces its collaboration with Vestiaire Collective, the world’s leading resale platform, to offer customers a new way to resell their pre-loved Burberry garments, so they can be enjoyed for longer.
Starting today, customers in the UK and US are invited to resell their outerwear and bags on the Burberry x Vestiaire Collective platform, in exchange for a Burberry gift voucher. Vestiaire Collective will then offer customers a price for their used item. Once the price has been accepted by the customer, the item must be shipped to Vestiaire Collective, where a rigorous authentication and quality control process will take place. All Burberry pieces sold will be available for purchase globally.
As part of the partnership, Burberry has also donated a selection of women’s Heritage trench coats to the platform. Proceeds from these items will be donated to the UK-based charity Smart Works, which provides job interview clothes and help to unemployed women in need. Burberry has supported Smart Works since 2013, donating products to the charity, which aims to help women realize their potential in the world of work.
For over 165 years, Burberry has been creating clothes, bags and accessories designed to last over time. This new partnership is part of the ReBurberry programme, which aims to bring circular initiatives to life for customers, supporting the brand’s ambition to keep products and materials in use for longer, a value shared with Vestiaire Collective. Through the Resale as a Service program, Vestiaire Collective accompanies luxury brands in adopting circularity and is committed to constantly promoting a more responsible fashion industry. With this partnership, Vestiaire Collective pursues its mission to transform the luxury industry for a better and more circular future.
Giorgio Belloli, Chief Digital, Customer and Innovation Officer at Burberry, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Vestiaire Collective to offer our customers another way to bring their garments to life. Building on our existing circular initiatives, including after-sales support through our ReBurberry program, we hope these pieces will continue to be enjoyed by generations to come.”
Fanny Moizant, co-founder and president of Vestiaire Collective, said: “This new partnership with Burberry celebrates longevity and represents a step towards circularity. Vestiaire Collective’s mission is to support brands that promote resale and offer more sustainable alternatives. responsible to their community to buy less but buy better”.
