In line with MARNI’s commitment to fostering constant creative dialogues, the brand introduces a limited series of down jackets designed in collaboration with designer Dingyun Zhang for Autumn/Winter 2023. The outerwear line explores the superhuman aspect and its connection with the individual, presenting functional models that protect and elevate the body through amplified proportions.

Previewed in Tokyo with an evocative fashion show in February 2023, MARNI DINGYUN ZHANG outerwear combines MARNI’s material sensitivity with Dingyun Zhang’s design vision, expressed through the study of shapes and three-dimensionality.

Each silhouette transposes the elements presented on the catwalk through a vocabulary of lines that is rooted in textures, primary colors, polka dots and windowpane motifs, generating an aesthetic synergy that becomes poetic and bold at the same time.

At the heart of this collaboration is a shared vision that transcends the conventional; all designs are expertly crafted, featuring oversized shapes that reflect Dingyun Zhang’s signature methodology. Made from mohair, Marni’s iconic material, each garment exudes a sense of luxurious comfort, ensuring an unrivaled feeling of warmth during the cold season, thanks to the soft hand-knitted outer covering and the insulating properties of goose down.

Dingyun Zhang’s talent shines through in the intricate craftsmanship, with each piece expertly sculpted to evoke a sense of movement and dynamism, capturing the essence of contemporary fashion.

The creative energy of MARNI DINGYUN ZHANG has been documented through a series of intimate portraits, created by acclaimed US artist Jim Goldberg, as part of the Autumn/Winter 2023 Vol.2 digital campaign, which will be presented globally across MARNI channels during of the season.
