Bold perspectives and material innovations begin to reawaken the 133-year-old house of LANVIN. In this dynamic time, the Summer 2024 collection is proposed as a reaffirmation of the house’s enduring heritage, an homage to the savoir-faire of its atelier, and a heartfelt love letter to its revolutionary founder Jeanne Lanvin.
Sourced from LANVIN’s advertising archives, the stylized and surrealist photography of Guy Bourdin inspires the season’s exceptional color. His deep, saturated hues are the foundation of a sophisticated palette with a fresh pop appeal.
Studio LANVIN looked to the interwar years of the 1920s and 30s—the dawn of the
modern world—to synthesize Jeanne Lanvin’s singular sensibility and hand. The designs interpret the essential house codes: an aggressive pursuit of line and silhouette, the intricate techniques of hand embroidery, a layered femininity, a sensual masculinity, unabashed romance. At the same time, a contemporary pulse is built into the life of garments that speak to a new elegance, a new house mantra of ‘le chic ultime’.
The collection’s breadth spans three moments or occasions of everyday life: tailored
daywear, social and cocktail attire, and formal eveningwear. Together, they encompass a formidable technical expertise and engineering, the couture savoir-faire of the LANVIN studio and atelier.
Summer 2024 is thus a panoply of contrasts: hard and soft, past and future, tradition and innovation. It is a manifesto of beauty and French style. It is an unbridled contemporary vision 133 years in the making.
