Fall, a season that Gabrielle Chanel adored. To her, it was magical and ripe with creative potential, inspiring her velvet and tweed pieces as well as her cozy knits and sweaters in warm, distinguished, powerful colors. It also served as a source of inspiration for the CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio when designing the Fall-Winter 2023 makeup collection.

At this time of year, nature completely transforms: trees don their red-orange foliage, and gardens and parks take on shades of ochre. The last rays of the summer sun are still casting their soft, warm light over the landscape when the equinox occurs. In this brief instant, day and night are in perfect balance and time stands still, marking summer’s glorious end and heralding the beginning of a new cycle.

It is this moment, suspended in time, that the CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio wished to capture and translate into colors and effects for the ÉQUINOXE DE CHANEL collection.

OMBRE PREMIÈRE LIBRE is a new limited-edition creation with a fine, powdery, airy texture. This loose eyeshadow comes in six natural, earthy shades that warm up the eyes: a satiny hazelnut brown, a deep walnut brown, and a warm burnt sienna are joined by a luminous, orangey copper, a caramelized garnet, and an intense aubergine. The perfect combination of intense color, a satin finish, and long-lasting wear, it offers soft makeup looks in subtle and intense hues. Featuring an ethereal texture and a new cap with a built-in sponge-tip applicator, the creamy, sensuous powder can be applied in the blink of an eye. It glides on in one swipe and offers buildable color that is simultaneously deep and delicate.

Housed in a glass bottle whose black gradient effect adds mystery to this contrast, OMBRE PREMIÈRE LIBRE is a play of light and shadow.

DOUCEUR D’ÉQUINOXE blushes give cheeks a flush of intense yet delicate color and leave the complexion with a natural, luminous glow. Echoing nature and its reddening foliage, each blush is embossed with a leaf pattern and the double C logo, which come together harmoniously on the surface of the powder. The muted coral and beige palette warms up the complexion with energizing color, while the rosy beige and mauve pairing creates a soft healthy glow effect.

For the ultimate touch of sophistication, the Makeup Creation Studio created six new shades of ROUGE COCO BLOOM that coordinate with two new shades of LE VERNIS. Hydrating and plumping, ROUGE COCO BLOOM combines a high concentration of pigments with the Hydraboost complex, composed of natural waxes and oils, for spectacular shine and long-lasting lip color. From luminous coral to brownish rosewood and sienna, lips are enhanced by a range of shades that brighten up the complexion.

Vibrant LE VERNIS nail polish prolongs the joyful warmth of summer with a bright orange hue and ushers in fall with a shade of red-brown. Luminous hues that reflect the harmony, balance, and softness of this moment between seasons. Intense yet natural, the paradoxical ÉQUINOXE DE CHANEL makeup collection is the grand finale of a colorful Indian summer.
