After celebrating the first HAUS of Dreamers event with a unique night of immersive performances taking place in the heart of Venice, Italy on May 22nd, Golden Goose launches its third Dreamed By collection with Tattoo Artist Dr. Woo, exclusively previewing at Maxfield.
HAUS is a global cultural platform to unleash creativity and will serve as a new home for the brand’s community of dreamers. A place that unites creatives of multiple disciplines, identities, and backgrounds that will lay its roots in Marghera, the industrial port of Venice, Italy. HAUS of Dreamers is a series of global events for Golden Goose to bring the physical experience of HAUS outside of its homebase Marghera to key destinations around the globe.
To kick off HAUS of Dreamers in Venice, Golden Goose tapped five world-class multifaceted artists from different fields: Fabio Novembre, Quannah Chasinghorse, Dr. Woo, SUNMI, and Suki Waterhouse. The brand asked each artist to reinterpret and personalize classic Venetian icons, resulting in limited-edition collections. Each artist co-dreamed a pair of footwear, a ready-to-wear piece, and a unique object linked to the artists’ Venetian experience.
With a series of dedicated Golden TV episodes, the brand will tell the story of each artist’s world through their places of affection and their own communities, in an authentic way, inspiring future generations of dreamers. The series dives deep into the lives of each artist, where they came from, and what shaped them into who they are today. Throughout the episodes, each artist’s purpose, passion, and what drives them everyday will be discovered.
Through the Dreamed by Dr.Woo Collection consisting of three pieces, the artist reinterprets classic Venetian damask, one of Venice’s many treasures that shaped the history of prestigious Italian textiles and of Venetian velvets. Starting from this Venetian icon, Dr. Woo has created a plate in limited edition. This decorative piece is crafted in porcelain and adorned with the artist’s signature delicate tattoo designs printed with decalcomania, a special pad printing technique.
Accompanying the collectible art piece is a genderless crew neck sweatshirt in aged white, featuring all-over embroidered tattoo style designs and the artist’s lucky number 55 in a water-based, distressed print on the back. Hand-worn areas on the edges and subtle yellowing give the sweatshirt a distinctive Golden Goose lived-in look. The collection also includes a pair of Super-Star sneakers, loaded with artwork by the artist himself, like a 3D embroidered detail of Woo’s trademark spider symbol. With an upper in ice gray crust leather and a black star, the sneaker features ripped patches and a broken lace that accentuate a lived-in finish.
The Dreamed by Dr. Woo Collection for men and women launches with an exclusive global preview at Maxfield on July 6th with a private in-store event at their iconic Melrose location. The event will be followed by an intimate dinner co-hosted by Dr. Woo at Chateau Marmont. The collection will be available at www.goldengoose.com and select stores globally starting from July 18th.
