This collection celebrates the concept of the “alternative bride dress”. How did this idea was created?
My idea with Bridal was not to create her actual wedding dress, it was to be part of all the moments that surround the wedding from Hen Do to Honeymoon, Engagement Party to the Evening Dress. I found that white dresses of good quality for all these events were hard to come by. I also found a real lack of white suits and jumpsuits and I felt I wanted to re-invent the modern bride in my designs. I wanted MERABI to make Brides feel their very best for their special moments.

Why did you decide to take inspiration from Lebanon for this new collection?
My Lebanese heritage plays a big role in all of my collections- from the colour palettes, patterns, embellishments, silhouettes, etc. I think in this bridal collection, you can really see it in the extravagant embellishments and flowy silhouettes.

What do you advice to the “alternative brides” in order to find the perfect dress?
Choose something that makes you feel comfortable and have fun with it! So many brides are opting for non-traditional suits and jumpsuits for a more modern take on the wedding dressing.

Do you think that some pieces of this collection can also be versatile for other occasions?
So many of the white pieces are perfectly versatile for other occasions! I’m already married and I still get a lot of wear out of our bridal collection. Just because it’s white, doesn’t mean you only have to wear it for your wedding events. This Bridal Resort collection is perfect for weddings abroad and honeymoons, as well as any summer holidays.

How do you realize a piece is finished and ready to be produced?
I always wear the pieces out before they go into production as a final test of fit, comfort and look.
