La cultura del Jazz è stata sempre una celebrata forma d’arte e di espressione poetica e Copenhagen è sempre stata una leggendaria capitale del Jazz mondiale, soprattutto fra il 1950 e 1960, quando un gruppo di icone del Jazz americano avevano stabilito li la loro base.

Fra coloro che si sentivano a casa a Copenhagen ci sono Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Ben Webster e Ella Fitzgerald. Ognuno di loro ha tratto ispirazione dalla scena Jazz danese, quella che girava intorno al più importante club della città: il Jazzhus Montmartre, tutti si trasferirono a Copenhagen per la sua speciale atmosfera.

La collezione autunno/inverno 2014 di YDE è un tributo all’ambiente e ai personaggi straordinari di quella leggendaria era del Jazz, soprattutto le grandi “lady” del Jazz, Billie Holiday conosciuta come “Lady Day”, il nome scelto da Yde per questa collezione. Le immagini suggestive di fumosi piano bar, notti tempestose, odore di mogano e le dive hanno ispirato Ole Yde per la sua collezione autunno inverno 2014. Yde vuole riportare quell’atmosfera unica di quei magici giorni al tempo di oggi.

Yde lancerà la sua prima linea di gioielli, disegnata da Ole Yde e realizzata a mano dal prestigioso atelier francese, Gripoix. Il mood di Yde è nostalgico e giovane allo stesso tempo, un equilibrio fra morbide sete e velluti con lana spessa, Jacquards, paillettes e pizzo ricamato. Yde mescola il suo stile gentile e femminile con silhouette strutturate e dal taglio sartoriale. Bianchi e grigi sono messi insieme con l’oro glitter e profonde tinte di ispirazione gioiello.

La collezione è moderna, elegante e un ode appassionata alle grandi dive del Jazz.

The Jazz culture has always been a celebrated form of social commentary and poetic expression. Copenhagen’s legendary status as one of the Jazz capitals of the world grew in the 1950s and 1960s, when a whole host of leading american Jazz icons had their creative base in the city.

Among those who have called copenhagen home are Dexter Gordon, Stan Getz, Ben Webster, and Ella Fitzgerald. Each and every one of them has drawn inspiration from Denmark’s Jazz scene’s most important Jazz club: Jazzhus MontMartre. They all moved to Copenhagen because of its special atmosphere.

The aw14 collection is a tribute to the special ambiance and the extraordinary people of that era’s Jazz scene especially the grand lady of Jazz, Billie Holiday also known as “lady day”. The gripping images of smoky piano bars, stormy nights, the scent of mahogany and the singing diva have all inspired Ole Yde for his aw14 collection. Yde aims to bring back the unique atmosphere of Jazz in those magical days to the present.

Yde will unveil its first jewelry collection, designed by Ole Yde, and handmade by esteemed french atelier, Gripoix.
Yde’s aw14 is nostalgic and youthful at the same time. Ole Yde balances soft silks and plush velour with textured wools, Jacquards, paillettes and embroidered lace. Yde mixes its gentle and feminine signature details with tailored and structured silhouettes. Blacks and greys are put together with glittery gold and deep rich jewel tones. The collection is a modern, elegant and loving ode to the great divas of Jazz.
