The project was born in 2016, as an expression of Issey Miyake’s appreciation and respect for Ikko Tanaka, to further explore his aesthetic and her creativity. This series has pyramids and geometric compositions as a motif.
In this proposal, the collection employs a variety of materials and techniques, goes beyond the representation of colors and prints of Tanaka’s works, integrating his compositions in the very construction of the clothes – the result of the combination of Ikko Tanka’s graphics and design and ” making” by Issey Miyake.
The vibrant imagery and use of color found in Tanaka’s work inspires the wearer and the people around them, bringing a sense of joy, wonder and curiosity. The IKKO TANANA ISSEY MIYAKE collection reflects the timeless beauty of Ikko Tanaka’s work, enlivening the lives of the people who wear it and their daily lives.
