The film evokes a certain idea of Los Angeles, the destination for this Cruise show. The atmosphere is sporty, caught between the LA of the 1980s and today. Against a backdrop of California’s palm-fringed sandy beaches or in the black-and-white glamour of a Hollywood studio, Alma Jodorowsky lends herself to an aerobics session.

The first pieces of the collection are revealed to the rhythm of a choreography: top and mini shorts in pastel knit; a jewelled bikini top embroidered with comets and high-waisted shorts in terrycloth tweed; a sunset motif t-shirt and black Bermuda shorts, accessorised with legwarmers, sneakers and oversize sunglasses.

The CHANEL Cruise 2023/24 collection film will be unveiled on Wednesday, 10th May at 7am Los Angeles time and 4pm Paris time on chanel.com.
