For Maria Grazia Chiuri’s fall 2023 collection, presented in Mumbai in the spectacular setting of the gateway of India monument, Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior makeup, created a makeup look focusing on intense eyes.
Peter Philips explains: “to go with this collection inspired by india, i emphasize the e eyes with a rich smoky look brightened by a wet-look effect that adds mystery and depth”
Eyes
Peter Philips describes eyes “intensified by a smoky look that i created with the mono couleur couture 098 black bow, applying the black eyeshadow generously across the eyelid as well as under the eye at the lash line. Then i applied a little dot of vaseline from the crease to the browbone, spreading it to obtain a wet-look effect, and to disrupt the perfect lines of the eyeshadow, which slides into the creases and creates random shade variations. I finished framing the eyes with a line of diorshow khôl 099 black khôl on the water line. Then lashes were subtly enhanced with diorshow iconic overcurl 090 black. For the last step, i tidied and structured brows in keeping with this very emphatic look, using diorshow brow styler and diorshow on set brow.”
Complexion
Peter Philips describes a “very pure complexion prepped with dior capture totale le sérum. I then applied dior forever glow veil primer before applying dior forever skin glow foundation which evens out the complexion translucently. For touch ups i used dior forever skin correct.”
Lips
“lips looked natural in nude shades of dior addict: 100 nude look, 418 beige oblique, 422 rose des vents, 463 dior ribbon, 566 peony pink, 521 diorelita, 717 patchwork, 730 star.”
Nails
“nails looked natural in dior vernis 108 muguet.”
Hair inspired by 1920s retro style, hair was parted cleanly on the side and secured at the nape, with a finger wave across the forehead.
