Phoebe Philo is back, supported by the LVMH group. Her long-awaited return to the industry has now an official date, September 2023.

It sure is a big news for the diehards who have been waiting for her unique vision of womenswear, since she stepped down as a creative director of Celine in 2017. Philo launching her prêt-à-porter brand is an example of designers who want to participate in the industry at their own terms.

The Philophilies, as the fashion industry has renamed her most enthusiastic addicted, are craving the thing she is known for: minimalism.

Between ’90 and ’00, as a creative director of Chloé and then Céline, she has redefined silhouettes, brought on runways neutral colours with fluid designs and gentle structures.

Here lies the importance of her return, in an era of bold colours, eccentric look and tight-fitting clothes, fashion industry needs her minimalism touch.
