Presented for the first time in 2002, Louis Vuitton’s Tambour revolutionized all conventions of watchmaking design, delighting aficionados and opening new creative horizons for the Maison. At La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton, Switzerland, bold creativity converges with excellence in watchmaking savoir-faire. The distinctive lines of the tambour and its innovative shape, with a round case sculpted from a single piece of metal anchored to the applied crowns, made an impact. Over the years, the tambour has evolved, earning recognition thanks to its design and technology, adapting to the wishes of the wearer and integrating classic and complex movements.
In 2022, the Tambour Twenty pays homage to the original tambour by reprising its iconic codes, a deep, flared 41.5 mm case, with a brown dial with a brushed finish, yellow chronograph, hands and engraved letters “Louis Vuitton” flanking the cashier. These elements are combined with high-end features, including the high-frequency automatic chronograph with LV277 movement; a 22-carat oscillating mass; a specially engraved caseback specifying the limited edition of 200 pieces and a tailor-made trunk in Monogram canvas.
Louis Vuitton celebrates this important anniversary with a campaign that evokes a sense of youthful optimism and dreams that take flight. In a video directed by Damien Chazelle, a parallel odyssey of man and boy takes place, leading from the lush forest to the urban jungle, from the infinite possibilities of the imagination to a dream come true, set between the streets and the New York skyline. , in the shadow of the iconic Chrysler Building.
