The 2021/22 Métiers d’art collection campaign celebrates the virtuosity of CHANEL’s artisan partners. In a series of films and photographs, Mikael Jansson captures the silhouettes imagined by Virginie Viard that were presented in December 2021 at le19M, the new Parisian site created by CHANEL and dedicated to the Fashion Métiers d’art.

Mica Argañaraz, Loli Bahia and Adit Priscilla stand out against a white backdrop, as they embody this metropolitan and sophisticated collection with grace and daring. Here, a relaxed attitude sets off a two-tone sequin ensemble. There, hands placed on the hips or thrust into the pockets of long skirts echo the assertive postures adopted by Gabrielle Chanel herself. The embroideries by the Montex and Lesage ateliers, of trompe-l’oeil cuff bracelets or woven gold threads inspired by the structure of le19M, respond to a wealth of multicoloured tweeds.

Through these refined shots, the photographer captures the essence of CHANEL, illuminated by a graphic accumulation of sautoir necklaces, bracelets, Byzantine brooches made by Goossens along with other jewelled buttons, thus highlighting the creative dialogue between Virginie Viard and the Maisons d’art.

CHANEL is unveiling a series of conversations filmed in the ateliers of the resident Maisons d’art at le19M in Paris. CHANEL ambassadors Marion Cotillard and Caroline de Maigret, as well as model HyunJi Shin, were invited to discover the savoir-faire of the embroiderer Montex. Accompanied by Aska Yamashita, its Artistic Director, they talk about the embroideries of the collection and share the emotions they felt during their visit.

CHANEL unveils a video directed by Dimitri Chamblas, featuring the shoes from the show: beige and black leather pumps with a wide heel adorned with pearls, a new reinterpretation of CHANEL’s emblematic two-tone shoe. The choreographer and dancer magnifies the moving silhouettes of the models at le19M, the Parisian building designed by CHANEL and dedicated to the Métiers d’art.

The CHANEL 2021/22 Métiers d’art collection will be available in boutiques from June 9th 2022.
