Creative Director Matthew M. Williams’ Givenchy Spring 2023 pre-collection features an archetypal and essential wardrobe. Contrast is essential: sharp tailoring combined with denim, animal print with glossy details and skin-tight garments with languid combinations.
For women, essential items include the ribbed turtleneck, the perfect white cotton shirt, jeans with leather details or embellished with crystals, slim flared trousers and flowing cargo pants. Sharp-cut jackets are available in leather or textured wool with a U-Lock closure. An ocelot print appears on a stately blouse, sheath dress or day coat, while a new zebra pattern in faded beads and textured sequins brings light and shadow to an asymmetrical mini dress. Sophisticated drama rules the night: A red dress has a cut-out back and G-chain detail, a satin bustier dress features grid beading and sensual cut-outs reveal flashes of skin.
The accessories are based on ongoing stories: a horizontal variation of the beloved Antigona bag closes with the now iconic Cube lock designed by Matthew M. Williams. The Antigona, G Hobo, 4G Soft and Kenny bags are back in soft tumbled calfskin. The seasonal models in ocelot and zebra print pony skin are flanked by bags in denim, shearling or python.
The shoes are also based on success stories: the details of the closure adorn a women’s ankle boot with wedge heel and pumps with ankle strap. The high G-Woven sandal with square toe is finished with chain details
Jewelry continues to be bold and inclusive. The white resin beads form an emblematic weave for both ready-to-wear and jewelery.
