From 7 to 21 June 2022, ISSEY MIYAKE presents THINKING DESIGN, MAKING DESIGN: Work by A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE and Tatsuo Miyajima: a journey through the collaborations of A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE with creative professionals, who carry on the concepts of design and implementation at the base of the work of ISSEY MIYAKE – which has always put itself to the test in the creation of original and quality products.
The design work carried out by ISSEY MIYAKE as a company goes beyond form, designing and creating clothes that reflect the lifestyle of those who wear them. By developing original fabrics designed for contemporary society and striving to perfect the design and production processes.
The way in which ISSEY MIYAKE approaches the production of clothing, from the drawing board to its completion, reflects the concept behind the brand – which approaches clothing design as well as product design. Starting from this idea, A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE explores the various ways of combining and translating clothing art and design through collaborative projects.
This special project showcases the work of artist Tatsuo Miyajima on seven-segment digital numbers and presents TYPE-II Tatsuo Miyajima project by A-POC ABLE ISSEY MIYAKE through an installation. The brand collaborates with the artist to create clothes inspired by Miyajima’s work, promoting the experience of wearing art in everyday life.
